Hello.  Jennifer Snyder here sharing a large shaker tag made for my granddaughter to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  She’s 9 months old and this is her first St. Patrick’s Day – which happens to be a big deal in my household because my husband is in a band that features Irish music for the local pubs in New York, where we live.

This is my interpretation of “baby Irish” – using Maja Design’s classic Fika collection, still my favorite collection for it’s rich chocolate browns, , creams, greens and purples.  Just thinking about it makes me feel like a chocolaty treat.

Here are the images and papers I used from the collection: Chokadmuffins, Favoriter, Apple, Kärleksmums

Now then, don’t those beautiful paper images don’t make you hungry? Yum.

Here is a close up of the beautiful papers and the chipboard teddy bear shaker from Creative Embellishments.  It’s filled with shaker mix from Buttons Galore, to help make the shaker “come to life”.  The shaker mix adds that “bit’o lucky charm”, as my husband would say.

Thank you for stopping here today.  Enjoy.

Welcome Maja friends. I hope this post has found you happy and well. Tina with you today to share a layout project created using a mix of papers from differing Maja Design collections.

I have called this “My Sunshine”.

My background page was made using the Fika’s Sockerkaka and Crea Diems Sin lyckas smed. I created a framework 2.5 cm around the Sockerkaka paper and distressed it heavily. I then added Crea Diems Sin lyckas smed behind Sockerkakato allow the blue to shine through.

Vintage Pink

The sheet of Det skrivna består was cut into rectangular mats in differing sizes. I also added some rectangular mattings in differing sizes using Monochromes shades of Denim in Vintage Pink. These were all distressed heavily and randomly adhered together. I mounted the whole piece including the photo upon some 3D mounting tape and adhered it to the left of the layout.

I have used this adorable photo of my eldest daughter who just turned 18 this month. And because she has just turned that fabulous number I have used the Skeleton clockfaces to represent time gone past. I used two clocks from the collection and cut the smaller one in half to sit at the right of my layout.

The clockfaces were primed with white gesso and then coloured with Inka Golds in Hydrangea.

I have also used a panel of the Heart Attack Small.  For this project I decided to simply emboss the full panel with Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel from Stampendous. I cut the panel into quite a few pieces and layered them around and in between layers of the Maja Design papers and lace and of course the other chipboards and flowers. Some of the itty bitty hearts I took out of the panel and scattered them around and through the clusters. You can see below the hearts taken out separately.

The Dusty title Sunshine was also dressed in the shabby blue enamel. You can see it above. The tiny weeny specs of gold that shine through are just so cute.

I have used lots of distressing to highlight the layers of papers also. Some sanding of my papers was also done to create the shabby style look. You can see this above.

I have also used one half of the pack of Ornate Scrolls another one of my favourite pieces. this was cut into two and divided behind the photo. I dressed this piece in Crackle Texture Paste and coloured it a little with the Hydrangea Inka Gold and some Ranger Star Dust Stickles to make it shine.

I have also used some gorgeous Birch lace cut into segments.

And that is all from me today. Until next time take care and happy creating.

Hello scrappy friends!

What can be better as a big cup of hot chocolate in this cold season?!

I was inspired to create a vintage layout to my favourite theme – Chocolate –

because ”She doesn’t ask silly questions, chocolate understands” 😉

Suitable to this theme I used the paper collection ‘Fika’, here can you find some wonderful shades of brown papers

in combination with the right motifs as cups, muffins, teapots and much more

I used the papers ‘Kärleksmums’, ‘Chokladmuffins’and ‘Kaffe tack! ‘

some close up’s

other used products:

I hope I could inspire you to try some new themes.

What’s your favourite?

Hello, and welcome to all of our friends of the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy with you on the blog on this lovely day. I’m having a joyful day filled with flower making, stamping, and playing with my pretty Maja Design papers, all of which has led to this new card to share with you.

I’m using Maja Design’s Fika collection again this week, because I absolutely love purple, and this collection is filled with every hue of this beloved color. I’m working primarily with the deepest purple in the collection (almost a purple-blue), with accents in lighter tones.

I’m like a kid at Christmas with some new stamps I have in my collection, and have been happily stamping away, finding new ways to use them to enhance my projects.

I’m also in flower making mode. I love creating flowers from Maja Design papers. It’s the best paper I’ve ever found for this purpose, and when I take the time to make my own, my flowers perfectly coordinate with each project. I have tutorials for these roses on my blog for anyone who would like to give them a try.

The leaves are die cut and tucked in amongst the florals, along with autumnal berries resin frames, and a natural twine bow.

I’m now sitting at my very messy craft desk, blissfully surrounded by layer upon layer of Maja Design goodness, and I’m counting my blessings to have had a chance to create something today. Taking the time to use our hands, minds, and energy doing something we love is so important to our mental and physical health. I hope you’ll be able to find some quiet moments in your day to bring your masterpieces to life.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Dies and Distress Tool, Magnolia Rose Leaf Die, Flower Shaping Tools, Seth Apter Stamp, Unlabeled Sentiment Stamp, Archival Ink, Prima Resin Frames, Natural Twine, Acrylic Paint and Brushes, Sewing Machine, Thread.

Thank you so much for joining us on the blog! Your visit is a bright spot in in our day, and we hope you’ll be back each and every day to check out new projects from the design team. Don’t forget to take part in the monthly mood board challenge for the chance to win an entire collection of your choice of Maja Design paper. I wish you a week filled with love, magic, and crafty adventures!

Hugs,

I wish a very happy hello to all of our friends at the Maja Design Blog! I hope you’re having a lovely Monday. It’s Nancy with you today. I’ve been away since May due to a shoulder injury, and can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be mostly recovered and back in my craft room again. I have a new card to share with you featuring Maja Design’s Fika collection, and my favorite color; purple.

Each layer of paper is distressed and stitched. A bouquet of handmade flowers provides a cheery focal point, with die cut rose leaves and  loopy twine bows entwined throughout.

I have a few new stamp sets I’m using with this card. I’ve been waiting a long time to be back with all my crafty goodies, and couldn’t resist bringing them out to play!

If you look closely you’ll find resin butterflies fluttering amongst the blooms.

Finally, a touch of gesso for a shabby chic finish.
