Morning Maja friends! It’s Andrea here with you again on this lovely Thursday. A couple of weeks ago, I had the wonderful experience of going away on a ‘scrapbooking weekend retreat’! It was fabulous…no cooking, no cleaning, no “mom-duties”…just me and my paper supplies for 72 glorious hours. Needless to say, I got quite a bit accomplished…namely these cards…

A bit of Vintage Autumn Basics

TheLittleThingsMA little Walking in the Forest

BestWishesMajaHoldOnMajaAnd finally some Life by the SeaLighthouseBirthdayMajaI had to really narrow down my supplies…limited to only what I could carry. I forgot my beloved twine, quite a few containers of flowers and my whole box of chotchkies. Which leads me to the fact that you don’t need to add a lot of embellishments to Maja Design papers…the lovely designs and perfect patterns speak wonders for themselves…

Have a wonderfully crafty day…and thanks for spending a few minutes of it with me!Andrea-sign

Hello and a warm welcome to Maja designs. Today I am sharing a layout with you, designed using the magical ‘Walking in the Forest’ collection. Beautiful Deep, Rich, warm earthy colors . I titled my layout INSPIRE, because nature inspires me every single day, we can learn so much about life just by watching and observing nature . The richness of the colors and the never ending circle of life. sigh !

1 January layout inspire

I began by tearing the paper (jeans), distressed the edges and laid it over the Autumn in the air –bs paper, leaving room for my heart and altered metal element.

1 January layout inspire distressed

I had fun adding texture by Lacing sections together with string..to me this torn section represents how life sometimes takes a different path where we have to dig deep, open our heart, feel our feelings and trust the process of life. It is in these times where we discover our strengths and courage.

1 January layout inspire leaves

The leaves and various dies are cut using both papers to add different textures, shades and colors .

1 january layout inspire tag

I inked the kraft tag with the Ranger distress ink .Embossed it, then swiped an alternative colored blue ink over it adding distinction, and securing it with a bling brad. Under the layers of foliage are some inked chipboard pieces adding depth and texture. I love to add lots of layering , which I believe adds interest and intrigue. It is also a fabulous way to use up small pieces of chipboard and elements.

Maja Design papers used  Collection / Walking in the Forest – Jeans, Autumn in the Air – bs, Autumn in the air.

Thanks so much for popping by and I do hope I have inspired you to take a look at The “Walking in the Forest” collection and get busy playing with these rich papers. Bye for now, until next time warm hugz x
