Hello Maja friends!

When we were hiking in the autumn forest, we discovered a new house for our dog.

Filou had to examine it closely and it seems as if it meets his requirements 😉

Back at home, he has come to love his soft dog basket and of course our sofa again,

because it’s much more comfortable as he whispered to me.

That was my inspiration for this new autumn layout in mixed media natural style.

I have combined two of our beautiful autumn collections at Maja Design ‘Enjoying Outdoors’ and ‘Walking in the forest’.

The delicately patterned green background was ideally suited

to embellish it with stamps, stencils and spray paints.

The central element is a cutout from the paper sheet ‘Maple’ in the shape of an autumn leaf,

which somehow looks like an acorn.

some details

some typical forest elements in autumn colours – a chipboard,

wooden shapes, dried tree bark and lichen

two trees made with modelling paste and silicone mould, ‘Fall foliage’ and branches with cutting dies

dried acorns shells and fern leaves also made with white modeling paste

the cutout fall leave where the edges finished with ‘Walnut Stain’ ink pad and Spray colour

Thanks for your visit!

Have a wonderful day!

Count Your Blessings

Hello! It’s Nancy with you today, and I’d like to wish a warm welcome to all of our friends of the Maja Design Blog!

It’s the first week of October, and many are already reveling in the refreshing brace of fall. It’s still in the 90’s in Charleston, so here we must wait a couple of months to enjoy those cooler temperatures.

To escape the heat we’re planning a mountain holiday, where we’ll partake in all the delights of autumn, including nature’s glorious display of color. The Smoky Mountains, always teaming with abundance and life, transition from the lush green of summer, to every shade of orange, yellow, red, olive, and brown. It’s a sight of such beauty that it seems almost otherworldly, like something out of a story book. That is my inspiration for today’s card, and there could be no better paper collection to bring it to like than Maja Design’s Walking in the Forest.

The beautiful design papers are distressed and stitched to form a multi-layered base.

Purchased paper flowers and die cut leaves of multiple varieties comprise the floral spray, anchoring and drawing the eye to the focal point of die cut tags and bird stamps, all created using the paper collection.

The sentiment is hand stamped using archival ink.

Finishing touches include a loopy twine bow, fall berries, and a dusting of gesso here and there.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Tim Holtz Leaf Dies, Magnolia Rose Leaf Die, Paper Flowers, Sentiment Stamp, Archival Ink, Natural Twine, Fall Berries, Foam Adhesive, Glue Gun, Sewing Machine, Thread.

I’m off to bring some semblance of order to my craft room. It’s not always the tidiest of spaces, but it never fails to be the comfiest. It’s my own personal Hobbit-hole, where I’m never far from a tea kettle and a cozy day of crafting.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I wish you a lovely day filled with all things good and wonderful. I hope you’ll have plenty of time to work on your own creations, and remember to share them with us here at the Maja Design Mood Board Challenge!

Hugs,

Welcome Maja friends!

Today a season inspired layout, Autumn is the best time to go on a discovery tour through the forest and to rustle in the fragrant autumn leaves.

I used the background paper ‘Birch’ from Maja Design collection ‘Walking in the forest’.

What can be better than a wonderful walk through a colourful forest

in your favourite pair of jeans?!

used papers

I was inspired to make a natural rustic style layout.

For that I also worked with papers from our Denim & Friends paper collection, with corrugated cardboard, blue color shades and suitable autumn chipboards, wooden shapes and embellishments.

corrugated cardboard and leftovers from ‘Wood’ as frame wood planks

autumnal embellishments with a fabric denim star as tag

Enjoy your day!

Welcome friends!

Kerstin is back and I want to share with you my latest mixed media layout.

Fall is knocking on your door, finally, you feel like saying, after months of heat and drought.

At the begin of September, the summer heat gradually gives way to cooler autumn time,

which cobers the landscape in spectacular wonderful colours.

Time to walk in the woods and rustle through the foliage.

I used a background paper ‘Autumn in the air’ from the collection  ‘Walking in the forest’. I love this wonderful golden autumn colours with delicate leaves motifs, Simply adorable!!

In addition I used some Sizzix dies, flowers and embellishments from 49 and Market, wooden shapes from Calico Craft Parts and a lace and frame which was made with silicone moulds.

 Have a wonderful time!

Welcome and a very happy New Year to you. Tina with you today to share my project for January.

This layout was inspired by the Dusty Attic Moodboard for the month. I saw it and immediately thought Maja and stylish elegance. And what better way to display all of these than with a wedding photo. A very special photo of my little family from quite a few years ago. But this photo I feel captures all that our day was…..pure happiness and love.

I hope you enjoy this!

“Love”

Every now and then I come across a patterned paper that really projects gorgeousness in itself. And this piece I selected from the Walking in the forest collection is one of those that I am talking of. It was really all I needed to create this project with …….and em

Flannel Shirt bs

This piece which I find just gorgeous with the suttle foliage at the side I find really elegant. My background was stencilled with some hearts and accentuated using paints and texture paste. I also added a very small amount of stamping.

You can see above the minty colour paint I used to help the photo pop from the page.

I did some layering of chipboards to create a base for my photo to sit upon. I then clustered flowers and lace leaves around this to bring the photo to attention.

Here you can see more layering upon the gorgeous piece of Flannel Shirt bs.

And a few more photos from different views…………..

Above you can see the background hearts which have been dressed and heat set to create dimension.

Here you can see the gorgeous 49andMarket flowers. These have been layered and clustered around the chipboards.

I have also added some hand dyed soft leaf lace to help soften my project.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed your visit. See you again next time and happy scrapping.
