Good morning Maja friends!

It’s winter, and soon it’s Christmas. Today I have created a wintercard using papers from the “Enjoying Outdoors” collection.

This card is a kind of easel card and I have decorated all parts of it.

Together with the Maja papers I have used an image from an old postcard, doilies, pearls, lace and flowers.

Wish you all a happy day! Hugs from Heidi

Good Morning Everyone <3

It’s Sunday, and it is my turn to inspire you with a project created with the new collections, Home for the Holidays <3

Home-for-the-holidays-P

I have collected the blue sheets from the collection and made one wintry project in blue, white and silver.

I am very fond of the new collection to Maja Design and I have been inspired by the deer that can be found on some of the sheets. When I came across a silver deer in a store, I new that the deer was just perfect for the new collection. The entire project is designed, so I can use the deer in silver.

Next to the deer I have three packages. These packages I have covered with True Snow and Glitter. Round them I have a bow in silver with a white button on top.

The flowers I have put together is one set of dies from Creative Expressions called Poinsettia.

On all the flowers I have a thin layer of true snow and glitter. Both sides of the box are decorate the same.

In between the flowers I have used pine needles, frozen berries, Christmas balls and apples in silver.

On the box I’ve spent a lot of True Snow and glitter.

Silver colors runs through the whole box, with derr on the top, silver thread on the presents and the buttons to the four silver feet the box stands on.

This is the last box I’m making to you as an inspiration for you this year <3

Nesxt time I will tell you abute a speciall project that means a lot to me and many other people <3

cathy - Home for the holidays 7

Hello everyone! I cannot believe how quickly the time is passing. The month is nearly and over and my year at school is nearly over as well (I’m doing a happy dance atm). It feels strange creating a wintery Christmas card to share with you as Christmas in Australia is simply the opposite…as we celebrate Christmas in summer! However I couldn’t resist the wonderful images in the beautiful collection Home For the Holidays.

I love the blue tones of the papers. I created my own poinsettias using Magnolia Christmas Poinsettia dies. I applied some Ruby Rock-It Snow White Course Glitter on top of them to add some shimmer. The foliage is die cut using Tim Holtz Holiday Greens and the tag is also from the Tim Holtz Tag Collection. I incorporated my sentiment here as well which is from JustRite.

I used a Memory Box Catalina Wreath and die cut it twice. By placing it slightly off centre, it created a lovely shadow effect.

I am slowly creating my Christmas cards…I haven’t made a dent into my intended target but once school finishes and all my deadlines are met I can really get stuck in and get creating. I have ideas but sadly only 24 hours in a day (sigh).

Hi! I'm Cathy. I live in Sydney and am a Primary School teacher. I am passionate about teaching and love what I do. At present paper crafts are my creative outlet, which is my other passion. I am drawn to vintage, shabby chic styled crafts which I love to create. I do enjoy other crafts such as sewing, quilting, knitting and crotchet…not enough time! I am always inspired to learn and to try new techniques in both teaching and my crafts. I love Maja Design papers and enjoy creating with them.

Some days ago I received the new Christmas papers from the “Home for the Holidays” collection, and I felt totally in love with the lovely colours in the papers. Today I have made a Christmas card with some of the blue tone papers.

Together with the new papers I have used an image of a traditional Norwegian gnom. In Norwegian he is called “nisse” and he is known for that he guards all the farm animals. In old days they always placed a bowl of rice porridge for him outdoors on Christmas Eve, and if he didn’t get the porridge he played tricks on the farmer.

Today it’s only 1 month left to Christmas, enjoy this day! Hugs from Heidi

Christmas Carols in the Snow

Hello Everyone <3

Today I’m here with a little extra Christmas inspiration to you <3

About two weeks ago I made a box with 8 sides. I made the box my self using thick cardbord also known as chipboards 12×12. When I made this box I would give it a little extra Christmas spirit <3

On the side of the box, I used a Martha Stewart Punch called Eyelet Lace, this is a new personal favorite of mine. The snowflakes are a dies set from Tim Holtz called Mini Snowflake. The set is two snowflakes, and on my box I have placed some of them on top each other. I also decorated these with snow from a box and plastic snow.

The lid of the box is also cut out from chipboards and both sides have patterned paper, even at the edges. The top lid I’ve covered with alot of snow from a box and snow made from plastic. I have made my self a  little Christmas story on the top. Christmas Carols in the Snow <3

On the lid I’ve used several dies from Tim Holtz. The Christmas tree in the background is put together with a dies named Evergreen <3 The Deer is from a set with two, called Reindeer Fligthe and the pair where the lady sings and the man plays, named Victorian Carolers. The other details are mushrooms, packages with some bullfinks. The bullfinks is a dies from kaBoks.

The Christmas tree is made from 16 trees that two and two are glued together. This is to get the patterned paper on both sides. In the tree you can see that I have used several Bullfinch.

Below the tree I have 3 red mushrooms and on the other side you’ll find a deer.

The packages I’ve put together myself without a tutorial. Also these are covered with snow and two of them I have placed some birds on.

When you remove the lid, you will see that I have covered the inside with patterned paper and pearl string.

The idea for the project I got when I saw the dies set with the lady and the gentleman from Tim Holtz. I just knew I had to make one project with this and give them the right Christmas atmosphere they deserve <3

For this box I have used paper from different collection from Maja Design:

I wish you all a great weekend <3
