Hello friends.  Jennifer Snyder here today to share a frosty slimline card created using a classic Maja Design holiday collection, Winter is Coming. It’s NOT to early to start those holiday cards.

I really wanted to use a winter design that didn’t have traditional winter colors.  This collection was exactly what I needed.  The print on the paper is frosty but yet unique. I also used a sheet from the Monochrome Shades of Winter – Warm White .

Frosty mornings

Warm White

The dies and stamps are from Spellbinders new collections.  The Friendly Snowmen stamps were colored using Spellbinders colored pencils.

Thank you for stopping here today.  You are appreciated.  Happy crafting.

Hi there! How are you? I really hope you are having a lovely holiday. I know this time of year can be sad for many, often because the ones they have dear are not here anymore. I really miss my mother who passed away three years ago, especially at this time of year. She loved everything about Christmas, and mostly because she could bring the family together. I think that is an important thing I have learned from her, and that I can be better at. Just to spend time with family and loved ones. But I am not that good cook that she was 🙂

Some nights ago I went to my friend Audhild, and we sat down colouring together with two other friends. It was so nice. And even if I sat there for hours, this image was the only one I had time to colour. I really love the blue and brown colours in the “Home for the holidays” collection. And felt it was perfect for little Tilda here (Tilda with sock puffs).

I made some poststamps with the sheet called “Love the snow” and a die from Magnolia (Vintage Box, 3rd edition). The little snowmen are really cute.

The snowflake and the stars are from a banner from Wycinanka. If you look closely on the card you can see that I have tore the paper and put a lace and some more papers inside. But as always I decorate too much, so that it is difficult to spot what I had planned to show you 🙂

Here in the west part of Norway we haven’t had snow yet. I am longing for some snow now, not only rain. We have had the extreme weather Urd howling around our house. But luckely it was not strong enough to make any damage around here.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card today. Wish you a lovely day. And since I will be in the Maja Design Creative Team for another year (Yay, soooo proud! A big thanks to Camilla and Marie for having me!), I will be making a new post in two weeks.

But before I end, I will show you the papers I have used for my project:

Big warm Christmas hugs from,

Camilla

Hello Everyone <3

Today it is me, Silje Kristin that will inspire you, with something I’ve never have done before.

This weekend I took a trip down to southern Norway, and visited a lovely town called Tønsberg. I traveled on Thursday to have the entire weekend along with scrapping happy ladies. I’m having a great time, and some great days here at the scrapbooking event. I have meet many new and wonderful scrappers and enjoyed hours after hours with papers.

Do you remember my last post? I told you I’d show you one big project. I was then in a scrapbooking event here in my home town, Bodø. That weekend I spent 21 hours making something I’ve never tried before. The inspiration I got from an intro of a TV series and the winter theme.

I decided to create one ferris wheel. The ferris wheel is made without a tutorial. I used about five hours to make the two wheels. Around the wheels I have attached white pearl string. The ferris wheel is assembled in the same as the wheels. Also these, I’ve created without a tutorial.

In between the wheels I have attached paper straws, which I have distressed with Distress Mini Ink. On every paper straws, a small trolley hanging down. The trolleys are made of four circles. I’ve used a thin white tape around, to create a special effect.

On the front on the wheels, I have some big snow crystals, these are wood from Wycinanka. I have covered them with snow and glitter from Distress Ink.

The details I have made and placed around the ferris wheel are made by hand. Here you will find shoes, snowmen, christmas trees, deer, christmas gifts and bullfinch.

The shoes are painted white, and then I have some snow and glitter on them <3

I have made two snowmen, which are made with a tutorial that I have made myself. Both snowmen are covered with snow and glitter, that you can see is everywhere on the project.

Behind the ferris wheel and at the front, I have some deer. This is a dies set from Marianne Design.

On the green chrismas trees I’ve used glitter and snow.  In and on the trees you can see christmas baubles in blue and  bullfinch.

The bullfinch is a dies set from kaBoks, this is one set of three size and they are perfect to have between flowers, or as I have done, glued them on the christmas trees <3

The final details of the project are tree packages in three sizes. Each package has its own tag, ribbon and snow <3

If you put all the details together, you have a lovely winter wonder land, with wonderful snow and glitter <3

The entire project is made on the back of a shelf. In the corners I have attached silver feet and atop of the brown carton I have covered it all with white snow and glitter.

I have used paper from two diffrent collections from Maja Design.

I hope you are inspired to create your own winter wonderland <3

Winter is knocking on the door…

Here in the northern Europe it is still autumn and we can still enjoy quite bright days outside and be amazed by all the autumn-like colours the nature brings. However, the winter is knocking on the door and will soon embrace us with white snow, coldness and crispy air. Nothing bad about that, I love winter time..! Go sledding with the kids, make beautiful things in the fine, white snow – like snow angels, caves to cuddle in and snowmen with carrots as noses.. And then, head inside to enjoy a nice cup of warm chocolate in front of the fire place.. I think you really enjoy being inside more, when it’s chilly outside – actually you enjoy both worlds even more. ♥

Our newest collection is taking us outside to hang with the snowmen, meet the reindeer and say a quick hello at the mysterious old man with the white, long beard who has arrived with a huge sack on his shoulder…
We watch the snowflakes fall from the sky, in all it’s different shapes and sizes.
We head inside, to warm ourselves in front of the stove, as we’re baking some gingerbreads to enjoy later on. During the evening we’re munching on our freshly baked pastries while we’re wrapping some presents for our beloved ones.. We are wallowing in different patterns and beautiful lacings.

You wanna join? Welcome! ♥
