Hello Maja Friends, Elena is here today.

I’ve got a couple of cards to share with you today. Something different this time

Summer Collection for Cards by Elena Olinevich for Maja Design_1

I enjoy making cards with in blue tones.  But I have already used so many times Vintage Basics collection, so that I decided to try something new.

Maja Design has so many awesome collections, but I have to cinfess that I have never crafted with the Sommartider collection

It’s quite an old one, however I thought it’s great for summer – beach -vacations ptojects, but now I see it can be used almost for any kind .

I took those papers, that have a beautiful vintage floral background and created a couple of cards, just changing the papers for any other layer.

It’s great to mix them together and I like the result it has brought.

I also tried to find the new flowers composition. Sometimes the sqaure shape makes it challenging for me.

I also changes the center of the cards – the ovel and teh circle, and it makes a difference too.

So try the new directions for you projects, especially if talking about the cardmaking. You will be amazed by the look.

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new mixed media layout featuring both the “Enjoying Outdoors” and the “I Wish” collections.

Orchid Beauty by Pascale B.

Photo: Comfreak

As usual, I primed the background with clear gesso. While it was drying, I prepared a paste with 3D Gloss Gel and the Rust and the Gold Opal Magic Mica Powders. I added a first design with this homemade paste and a stencil.

Orchid Beauty by Pascale B.

I prepared a second paste with the Rusty Red Art Alchemy and the Texture Powder: the result is a matte paste. I used a second stencil to add another design and let dry everything.

I painted the orchids with the Rusty Red paint and added more gold to them with the Gold Opal Magic. I die-cut some branches in a watercolor paper.

I colored the background with Moonshadow spray ink and Magicals to match the colors of the photo. I added also some random stamping.

I cut some papers from the I Wish collection to match and add under the photo. I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel.

Birthday Cards

Good morning, Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today :)

I’m often asked to make some cards to order – and today I have two birthday cards to share. The first one is for a man who loves jazz:

mdjazz

I used my all-time favourite Vintage Romance collection because of the handsome guy image and for me classic jazz is those handsome guys in smart suits 😉 Although other images in the collection are rather referring to cars, I still used a car advert that I partly covered to reveal only the club name – sounds jazzy enough to me 😉

mdjazz1

As I said, the collection doesn’t have any music motives, but I used stamps and washi tape to add some tunes and the piano keyboard, and then a chipboard saxophone to match the card theme:

mdjazz2

I cut some tags from paper scraps and made a music record from cardstock:

mdjazz3

And so I made this romantic collection fit into a jazz theme :)

The other card is a complete change of theme :) It’s the first birthday card for a cute little lady:

md1bday

For this one I used the refreshed Sofiero collection as I chose a soft pink and green palette. I’m so happy to be able to layer the Monochrome papers and not to cover beautiful patterns! Plus, I didn’t need to search for matching colours :)

md1bday1

I added some little flowers and stamped and die-cut the sentiment, also using the Monochrome paper:

md1bday2

I stamped and coloured the girl image in matching colours:

md1bday3

But there’s some more to the card: I included the girl’s name too and made the card into an easel form:

md1bday4

I really like the way the soft colours and delicate flower pattern go together with glitter and the stamp!

Here’s what I used to make them:

Other: stamps: Nellie Snellen, Gstamps, Lemonade; dies: Spellbinders, Crealies, Memory Box; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; chipboard: Anemone.

And which card do you like more? :)

A big big welcome back to the home of Maja Design.  Today I have for you my next Maja Design Team creation.

It was so exciting to hear that “Soferio” an old favourite was being reprinted into a new edition with an additional Die Cut Sheet and Monochromes.

Can’t wait to share with you my next creation but until then I present to you

“Love you to the moon and back”……..

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 023 (1020x1024)

As soon as I saw this first sheet of the collection called Strolling down the rose path, I instantly knew that this was where I would start. I teamed it with “Enjoying the fragrance” to create this lolly coloured layout of my gorgeous girl.

Sofiero Collection

Enjoying the fragrance bs

Enjoying the fragrance bs

My starting point for this layout was to stamp and stencil with texture paste the background of Enjoying the fragrance. I have used Distress Ink Ground Espresso with a 49andMarket Stamp – Ethereal Stamp Set.  The edges of the paper were also stamped and powder embossed with another 49andMarket Stamp Set called Gabi’s Line Stitch . Once this was heat set I cut a wavy pattern from around the stamped image and then backed this to Enjoying the fragrance bs.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 002 (768x1024)

My photo was matted using pieces from the 6 x 6 paper pack of the same papers. They are so darn cute perfect for matting this sizing of photos.

As you can see above I have also tucked in some small snippets of miscellaneous lace I found sitting on my desk.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 016 (1024x768)

My photo and paper matting were sat upon some Dusty Attic chipboards that I put together to make a unique heart shape frame. These chipboards were gessoed and then inked randomly with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I also rubbed a little Liquid Pearl “Blush” over and around the edges to pick up on the pink shades from the papers.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 020 (768x1024)

My Dusty Attic title “Love you to the moon and back” is a very special saying that my gorgeous girl and I have used for each other for as long as I remember. So it was only fitting to use it here. This was dressed in Finnabairs Art Extravagance Texture Paste White Crackle. Once it was dried I rubbed in some of the Blush Liquid Pearls and then rubbed over the textures with a little more of the Distress Ink.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 021 (768x1024)

My clusters of flowers that I have used here are the newest of the 49andMarket collections.

Shimmer and Shine in both the Blush and Ivory Melange. They compliment these papers perfectly!

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 022 (768x1024)

And one more sneak peek!

For your convenience I have made a full and complete list of the materials used for this creation below.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today. As I said before I have another coming up using this same beautiful beautiful collection.

I can’t wait to share it with you! Until then happy scrapping.
