Hello Friends – Jennifer Snyder here today to share a few of my recent projects.  I’ll call it a grab bag because I have a variety of projects to share – an altered piece, a layout and a mini photo album.  I make a few rare appearances on the blog because I am busy doing “behind the scenes” activities at Maja Design so I am very happy to show how I am using the amazing papers.
This first piece is a 13inch paper mache dress form I covered and decorated using Ska Vi Ta En Fika collection.  The  paper for the dress is , Tva Froknar,  and the hat uses the most delicious paper, Kladkakka.
The hat pattern can be found at the Flying Unicorns , where I also obtained it.  Here is a view of the dress before I altered it.
In order to make the paper mold to the dress form, I misted the papers with water, then adhered to the dress form using Prima’s Art Basics Soft Matte Gel , by Finnabair. Once wet, the paper actually molds nicely.

The large purple flowers are some older Prima flowers as are the brown ones.

 Project #2 – Christmas ( it’s not too soon)

I created this piece from a sketch by Alda Stevens,  at the Flying Unicorns.  I have no idea why my mind is on Christmas, BUT it’s NEVER too soon, right?   The holiday season sneaks up on all of us before we can blink.

This piece does have a special home already.  My co-worker is having an open house in her turn of the century 1900’s home for Christmas. She is going to hang it in her entranceway.   I couldn’t be happier.
This was created using the Gammaldags Jul collection.  For me, this collection is traditional classic Christmas at it’s best!
I used some chipboard by 2Crafty and mists by Prima.
Project 3 – Mini Photo Album
I created this for a special friend who is having her first child. With all those photos excited new parents take, they will most certainly need a brag book to pass around at every opportunity.  I used the warm comforting and beautiful collection from Coffee in the Arbour.
This is the front of the photo album.  You can see the small delicate print on the Maja papers.  I loved that I did not necessarily need a 6×6 paper pad to make my 6×6 mini.  The patterns are small enough for  this purpose as well.
Thank you for stopping by today.

Hello and a very warm welcome to Maja Design blog. Heather here again with you , showcasing a beachy layout today. Firstly I began by creating my signature stitching on my paper, this time an arty circle then layering and stacking with diecut tags .

HENLEY JETTYFebruary Henley jetty Layout - Copy   I shot this photo facing the foreshore watching my hubby and my grand daughter  walking along one of the rustic old Jetties here in Adelaide. A beach side suburb called Henley Beach. The textured swirl to me speaks of the waves, froth and the salt .February Henley jetty stacked layeringThe heart represents how much I love this photo and my treasured hubby and precious grand daughter . The stitched circle demonstrates the never ending circle of the oceans movement. Constantly moving and flowing around and around … quite mesmerising  and beautiful to watch the rolling, frothing, foaming of the waves. february henley Jetty stacked tagsmore stacked layering with added bling. .february Henley jetty titleThe title ‘Henley Jetty’ is created from the Die Cut letters …. I mounted each letter on foam tape and in my opinion the title looks totally rustic and beautiful .february Henley Jetty tags tiedAs an extra element of interest I tied two tags together with cotton string, representing how all the parts of nature go together . I chose to go mono-chromatic with the blues and white in order to allow the weathered and rustic boards on the Jetty to stand out in the photo . I love to imagine all the different feet and shoes that have walked these boards and the wind, the rain and ocean salt pounding year after year . I have always been fascinated by the strength of a Jetty, how the structure withstands so much weather and time and the never ending pounding and crashing waves of the ocean against the boards .

Thanks so much for popping by and taking a look at all the inspiring ideas from the design team … warm hugz until next time. Heather-sign

I wanted to create an album for Joel about his first Christmas Eve. Still I wanted it to be rather simple so I would actually finish it. 🙂 I don’t know how many mini’s over the years that I’ve spent years on, simply because I’m not that good at finishing them. The idea was to cover Christmas Eve from morning until evening. So here comes Joel first Christmas album, It’s Christmas Time version.jul1

I really liked this album by Twiddleybitz with the beautiful window on the front. I’ve used a Tim Holtz die for the border and covered it with Distress Stickles Rock Candy. All ribbon and lace are from a LSS. Resin, flower and leaves by Prima. The white and later on golden pearls have all been created with a Pearl Maker pen. jul2

I’ve covered the window ledge with snow paint and also put in an old fashioned “glass” by using a sheet of gelatin. I really love how he peeks out the window.jul3Here’s the first spread… All chipboard inside the album are by Kaisercraft.jul4

The little tag says “Our little sleepy santa” and he truely was. jul5The second spread…jul6The tag says “First Christmas present”. He got a little baby rattle in his stocking.jul7

“The star of the evening”. He looked really cute in his outfit. I’ve used Shimmerz Texturez for the stars. I created the star mask myself, using my Gazelle.jul8Next spread…jul9I’ve used an edge punch by Martha Stewart for the border. The little sign says “Grandma and Grandpa”jul10

I’ve used one of my favourite papers for this page, Merry. The sign says “Mommy and me”.jul11

Last spread…jul12I love the little alpha die cuts. They are so cute. Here they say “Santa’s coming”. jul13

And after a long day… Bedtime. Flower and bling by Prima.

I hope you got inspired to create something beautiful with your latest Christmas memories.

Papers used for the mini-album…

Morning Maja friends! It’s Andrea here with you today…bringing you some Maja holiday goodness in the form of some cards…a few of which I made over the last 2 weeks and then a little recap of my favorite Maja Design themed card over this past year. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been with the team almost a year now and I can tell you that I absolutely adore Marie’s designs and the lovely, quality paper that she puts into every set. Her papers are definitely my ‘go-to’ papers…I will never tire of their delicate, vintage style! So without further chitchat…here are a couple new ones: HappyChristmasMajaI used the Vintage Frost Basics for my ‘Happy Christmas’ card. This card below is from the same line:
