Goodmorning Maja friends,

Today I am here with you all to show you a card I made with the lovely “Vintage Baby”collection! I am getting more and more addicted to that collection because of the soft colors and that you have both blue & pink sheets in it. For today it’s a baby boy card with handmade flowers and a rattle shaker with metal pieces in it {also some beads and glass glitter}

20161214_133401_HDR000000000001

I cut out different pieces of the blue & darker brown papers and placed them on top of each other to get more dimension, underneath the last layer I added some cheese cloth and a paper doily that I cut in half. The card is all made out of dies from a manufacturer I design for. Sorry for the different shades in the pictures but we have some bad weather and my camera is acting up!

What is great about using dies is that you can make your own flowers and you don’t have to worry about the colors not fitting well on your work. I always had a problem finding the perfect blue shade color for my work and now that problem is being solved by making my own flowers. Maja Design papers really allows you to make beautiful paper flowers from their collections because of the high quality & thickness of the papers.

Actually I used three other Maja Design collections here too, the blue flowers are made with “Nyhavn”collection! The flower with the beads in the center is made with the “Vintage Romance” collection and the feathers & leaves are from the “Vintage Summer Basics” collection and they all go so well together don’t you think so too??

Maja Design papers used: Vintage Summer Basics: 1905 bs, Nyhavn: Old Townhouses bs, Vintage Romance: Marriage proposal bs, Vintage Baby: It’s a boy bs, Adorable bs, Special Delivery bs & Die cuts bs

Hello dear friends, its Evgenia Petzer with you today. When you think about MajaDesign papers, you always think about the feminine side of these papers, but there are some collections that are also perfect for the Man’s creations.

So I have made the card for man’s birthday using the Nyhavn collection.

A very warm welcome to you! Tina O with you today to share my latest Maja Design creation.

I have titled this project “Adorable” which best describes my gorgeous eldest daughter at a much younger age. I have used Maja Designs gorgeous Nyhavn collection. This collection is so very versatile, I could go on using it forever.

2016-11-08 Adorable Maja - DA 029 - Copy

This photo of my daughter was taken back when we lived in a little mining town in regional Queensland. Her favourite pastime was swinging on the swingset. I have so many photos of her on it, but this one is by far my favourite. It of course is a little blurry due to my lack of photography skills,  but she looks so radiantly happy and that smile just melts my heart.

I have used “Eating Out” as my background page. It was kept pretty simple with just a little colouring of H2O’s. I also added splatterings of Dylusions and also some Liquid Pearl Accents.

2016-11-08 Adorable Maja - DA 003

You can see here that I have layered strips of the boards from “Sitting at the dock”. These were all cut into random strips and distressed. I then layered them up using a hot glue gun as I find this the quickest way. The Harbour Hertiage paper was used to mat the photo and I also used a strip of it to sit at the top and bottom of the photo to give more layers to my layout.

2016-11-08 Adorable Maja - DA 009

I have used some Dusty Attic chipboards to embellish my page. They were all dressed with liquid pearls in an array of colours to keep my page bright and fun.

My flower clusters were created using Prima Marketing flowers and some Kaisercraft paper leaves.

2016-11-08 Adorable Maja - DA 016

I have also added in a couple of Cabochons which I have coloured using liquid pearls.

Hello and welcome. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend refreshed to start all over again.
Tina O with you here today with my very first blog post as a Maja Girl!  I am extremely happy to be here. A sweet dream come true. Thank you so very much for having me!For my first post I have created a layout titled……

……….”True Story”……..

Maja DA Moodboard October 16 1 True Story_edited-1

It is funny the things I remember and the things I forget about my children from when they were young, so it is a wonderful thing that I can reflect on photos which usually ignites those memories. This is of my youngest who will be turning 12 very soon! From this photo I remember the pure sassiness and I must admit stubborness she emitted. These are the things that I so love about her and I wouldn’t want her to be any other way!

Nyhavn-P

My background was created using Maja Designs Nyhavn Collection. This would have to be one of my most favourite collections. I think because it has a lot of grey / black through them which I am extremely fond of at present.  I have incoporated a sheet of A Dockside in Bloom from the same collection and the reverse of it also….it has the crowns on the reverse which I thought was only fitting for a project encapsulating this photo and all that it means. The background page Kings Square was layered up with A Dockside in Bloom and primed with clear gesso. I added in a little texture using the Dusty Attic Distressed Diamonds stencil and crackle paste. While it was still wet I sprinkled over some silver prills and left to dry. I also painted in some Twinkling H2O’s to give the paper a little more colour. I have listed the papers below that I have used for this project.

I have distressed torn leftover pieces from the Nyhavn collection to matt my ever so gorgeousphoto of my girl. They have been layered  to help give my page dimension.

2016-10-09 Maja - True Story 024

The large chipboard piece was dressed in a mix of black gesso, crackle texture paste, and art stones along with a little iridescent medium to give my pieces a shimmery effect. The foliage chipboards were dressed clear crackle paste and then covered with liquid pearls once they dried. I have some more close-ups photos for you below……2016-10-09 Maja - True Story 026 2016-10-09 Maja - True Story 027 2016-10-09 Maja - True Story 028

Hello there….

My name is Tina Ollett, my family and friends call me Teen. And before I tell you more about myself can I just say how

very, very excited I am to have been invited here this month as Guest Designer.

Tina-Ollett

I live in beautiful sunny Queensland, Australia with my husband, our three children and two furry friends. They are my ultimate inspiration for everything creative that I do. I am for the most part a scrapbooker, but on occasion I have been known to do smaller off the page projects. I love to use patterned papers, lots of  layers, dimension, chipboards and of course flowers…..lots of flowers with small amounts of media in a vintage / shabby chic style. My aim when scrapping is to keep the focus on the photo and to celebrate the memories that they represent.

I am currently designing on some wonderful Design Teams, and in my other spare time I share my love of scrapbooking through teaching at workshops and classes around my hometown.

I feel so very privileged and honoured to have been asked to Guest here at Maja Design’s this month. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me here.

To see more of my work you can visit me here :

For those that know me and my style…..Maja Design suits me beautifully with it soft romantic, shabby papers. I chose to use the Nyhavn collection. The softness of these papers cried out to be used with photos that have a beautiful memory attached. This is a photo of my gorgeous daughter with my eldest brother. He really is the biggest kid I know and whenever my kids are around him they continually pester him for piggy back rides! This is one of those times that I happened to have the camera out.

I have titled this “Special”……

I hope you enjoy it!

Tina Ollett

I used Maja’s Nyhavn “Strolling along the Canal” for my background piece adding a little texture paste through the Dusty Attic Script Stencil and a sprinkling of silver embossing powder. I left it to dry for a short time and then heat set the embossing powders so as not to make the texture paste bubble. The title and the pendants were embossed a couple of times with silver embossing powders to create a thick covering.

Close up Tina

The Dusty Attic Baroque Corners and Ornate Frame were both dressed in White Crackle Paste and left to dry. Once it dried and crackled I washed it over with a mix of watered down Sugar Plum acrylic paint and a little gesso. I also applied a dabbing of Star Dust Stickles over the edges of these to highlight the colours a little more.

Tina close up

Pearls have been added to the pendants and flower centres and I have also sprinkled in some silver Prills to highlight the Baroque Corners which I have faced back to back and placed under the photos. The Prima Marketing Flowers were adhered to the base of the photos with the addition of some of my favourite Kaisercraft paper leaves. They were then dry brushed with a little gesso to tone the colours of the leaves and flowers down and to add that hint of shabbiness.

Tina O close up

I have cut the chains from the Dusty Attic elegant chain and embossed with silver embossing powder. These were hung from under the floral cluster at the base of the photos. I have also added in one of the string pendants from under here to keep the page consistent.

Tina Ollett - close up flowers

Here you can see the cute little mini chipboard bird….they are just so cute. It has been dressed with a little gesso and Star Dust Stickles and adhered atop of the flower cluster. And also the Vintage Nameplate was cut up into pieces and dressed similarly to the bird and added to the left and right edges of the layout as shown in the main photo.

Tina Ollett - close up

I have also coloured some cheesecloth with a little watered down Victorian Velvet distress ink and heat set it. It was distressed and placed amongst the flower clusters. I only had one square Prima resin frame left on my table so I decided to cut it up and add it to the top left and bottom right of the photos to tie the photos together.
