Hi everyone! It’s Gabrielle here with you today to share a special page I made for my parents anniversary this month.  They are having their 58th wedding anniversary, such a wonderful milestone.  For this page I combined a number of paper collections, using 5 different papers. (Vintage Summer Basics 1922, Nyhavn-Strolling Along the Canal, Vintage Summer Basics 1923, Ska Vi ta en Fika-Pratstund, Vintage Autumn Basics-XVI).

LIveLaughLove_GabriellePollacco_closeup1

I began by using the Vintage Summer Basics 1922 paper as my matting/background paper. I then cut the corner and 1/4 inches off the edges of the Nyhavn paper, which I then painted with some Shimmerz paints (Black Cherry Soda Creameez and Onyx Inklingz) and stamped liberally around the photo area with some stamps that I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries.  I then layered on a crocheted lace Doily from Tresors de Luxe and a chipboard frame from Dusty Attic (Swirly Frame and Laurel Leaf chippies).

I created coordinating blossoms using the Rose Creations dies from Spellbinders, using the scraps from the Vintage Summer Basics 1922 and 1923 papers.  I cut the smaller inner petals from the darker pink paper and the larger petals from the light pink paper.  I also cut out a few green leaves using the Ska vi ta en Fika paper (leaf dies are from the Rose Creations set).

I added a cluster of embellishments in the bottom right corner using a couple of Dusty Attic chippies (title and scroll).  I also added some texture using a Prima flourish stencil and home-made texture paste. And as always I love to tuck in a little clock here and there from the Vintage Autumn Basics XVI paper.

I hope my parents enjoy this layout, I’m forever grateful to have them in my life and hope they will see many many more anniversaries.  Thanks so much for stopping by the Maja Design blog today!

Hi All! It’s Gabrielle here with you today!  It’s the beginning of a new year, and I’m thinking it’s fun to reflect over past years on some of my favorites of projects I’ve created with Maja Design papers.  One of my favorite things about Maja Design papers is the beautiful images you can use for fussy cutting and embellishing your projects.  For the above layout I used a combination of papers from the Sofiero collection and from the Vintage Autumn Basics collections.  The clocks are clearly one of my go to favorite items to use on a scrap page, as are the gorgeous roses found in the Vintage Autumn Basics papers!

Girlie_small

Another thing I particularly love about Maja Design Papers is their wonderful quality and the strength of the papers.  They allow you to play with and manipulate the papers with a little bit of water without falling apart on you.  For the page above I cut little swags of one of the papers in the Ska Vi Ta En Fika collection papers and created a draping effect by making little folds/pleats in the paper.

Tempus Fugit

And as much as I love to create feminine pages with Maja papers, Masculine pages come together just as easily since there are so many wonderful papers and images in the papers to choose from in each collection!

Tiny Miracle

And don’t get me started on all the sweet baby pic’s you can scrap using these gorgeous papers! Above is a layout I got to make using a baby pic from my friend Jennifer who was kind enough to let me scrap her sweet baby boy….

Sweet Dreams_GabriellePollacco

You can scrap feminine baby pics as well using the pretty soft pinks in the beautiful papers….here I used the lovely Vintage Baby collection papers to scrap this sweet pic of one of my little great nieces.

Romance

Did anyone say weddings?  Of course these papers work beautifully for romantic/wedding photos!  This was a page I designed in the first year I began on the Maja design team…..good times!

The wedding pages you can create with the different collections are endless! Here I used the Nyhavn collection to scrap this beautiful photo of my niece and her husband.  This collection worked so well for their photo as their wedding had a nautical theme.

Honestly, it was so hard to pick just a few favorites I’ve made over the years.  Every time I hear that Marie Jensen is at the drawing board creating another lovely collection, I’m excited and and so happy, looking forward to seeing what new designs and lovely images I will have to work with, whether it be on my scrapbook pages, mixed media art or OTP projects!  If I had to pick a favorite collection? Lets see…..Vintage Autumn Basics,….wait a sec, nope, Enjoying the Outdoors, oh no, wait! Walking in the Forest…..**sigh** way to hard to pic just one! 🙂

Happy New Year Everyone <3

Today I thought I would make a Top 10 list of my favorite projects made with Maja Design <3

Maja Design is my favorite when it comes to patterned paper, and to be able to create projects with these lovely sheets are indescribable. It seems that the sheets are made to my projects, because they always fit into what I make.

Therfore , I think it’s  appropriate that I make a Top 10 list of my favorite projects from 2015, made with Maja Design <3

The Baby Vintage Playground – 10

This is a box that I made April last year. The box is made with paper from the Collection The Vintage Baby. The airplane, the trees, small boxes and the train are made without tutorial and the idea I’ve gotten from the name of the Collection and therefore it became a playground for a girl or a boy <3

The Vintage Travel Boxes – 09

This set of boxes I mase to one Norwegian Magazine called Ett Trykk, This ia a Scrapbooking Magazine and I was askes to be a Guest Artist last year.

The boxes are originally tin cans that I have decorated with paper from the Collection called The Vintage Spring Basics. The ddetails I have chosen to use are metal in bronze color. The blue and the dark details are probably way I love these boxes so much.

The Vintage Baby Gift Boxes – 08

These boxes are one result afther one bad brakeup betwieen me and my X boyfriend afther 3 years. For me to droen myself in this wonderful hobby when I have it tough is indescribable. I close the feelings out and concentrate one one thing and that is to do what i Love the most, papercrafting. These boxes took a total of 4 days to create, a box for eatch day.

A Lovely Christening Present – 07

This is also a project that I designed for Ett Trykk, but it is also one project that I have put a lot of thought and love into. The baby mobile with the small planes I consider as one of the finest things that I have made and it is actually hangs in one corner in my beedrom. One of my wishes is that I’m so lucky that I can give this gift to my baby one day <3 The projects is made from paper from The Vintage Baby and Nyhavn.

The Frozen Playground – 06

The Frozen Playground is one project that is made with paper from the Vintage Frost Basics. There is one project that I’ve thought for a long time, I created The Baby Vintage Playground, it was time for a playground for the Kids too. This was really fun to make, only to see the toys were made and got a place on the project.

The Cabinet of the Treasure – 05

Last Year, in the Autumn, Maja Design come with a LOVELY collection called Enjoying Outdoors. This is one of my favorites Collections and this closet here was the first project I used these sheets on. The cabinet was originally in pink, but with the sheets and the details, I give it a new life. The cabinet was also a Christmas gift to my little sister Jeanette, so she can use it for jewelery <3

A True LOVE Story in a Music Box – 04

This is one project that is all abute LOVE and that is probably whay it’s on my list <3 I love this box and wat it symbolizes <3 THe idea comes from a story written by a Danish writer named H.C. Andersen and the storry called The Tin Soldier. The sheets I have used are from two different collections, Walking in the Forrest and Vintage Autumn Basics.

The Silver Deer – 03

The project with The Silver Deer is for me one magical project <3 It is full of glitter and snow. The entire project has a frosted fell to it and a touch of romance. The idea of this box were the basis of the latest collection by Maja Design, Home for the Holidays. The deer that are on some of the sheets I have tried to recreate by placing a silver deer on the top.

My Winter Wonderland – 02

My winter paradise in te woods covered with snow and glitter are one of the projects that I’m most pleased with. Sitting creating a projectbased on an idea and withoute tutorial is magical. When I made this, I used the blue paper from the Vintage Winter collection.

My Christmas Present for Myself – 01

But the project that I put highest on my list is the Christmas Cards I handed out before Christmas. This is one project that I appreciate very highly and I am so thankfoul that I got the pssibility to share out 86 homemade cards to the elderly in nursing homes in my homeplase Gildeskål.

Now you have seen and read abute my Top 10 List with Maja Design projects from 2015 <3 This was no easy list for me to make, but I’m already looking forward to the continuing with Maja Design Projects in the coming year <3

I’m so excited abute how they are going to be, for rigth now, I have no idea where my ideas can take me away to.

Goodmorning amazing Maja Design followers,

This time I want to show you a layout I made with four different collections, even though it doesn’t have as much layers as usual for me. The collections I used are Nyhavn {for the base of my layout}, Summer Crush & Vintage Summer Basics. Also I used the clock sheet from “Vintage Autumn Basics” For this layout I started by deciding which colors I wanted to use by choosing the flowers, chipboard pieces and design. I chose the colors teal, turquoise, white, cream and grey. On the picture you see one of my little nieces named Roos she is the daughter of my husbands sister. On this picture she looks really adorable but don’t let this picture mislead you because she is quit the little rascal….and a hand full for her parents. By the way she is about a year and a half old in this picture and she will be turning five in April 2016.

20151217_1501111

I started this layout by distressing the edges plus stitching on it, later on I sprayed with different shades of white & teal to end it with a stencil and paste. The beautiful lace pieces are by “Tresors de Luxe” and the chipboard pieces are by Dusty Attic. The Nyhavn collection has some really beautiful grey sheets in it which are really great for mixed media.

I was thinking of also using some pink in on this layout because her pants are that color but then I though well I will keep it in this color because I liked it this way. I hope you do too 😉 I embossed all my chipboard pieces with my Lindy’s Stamp Gang products. And I stitched all my borders of the papers only not the circles under need my picture.
