Hello Maja fans!

Mary with you today and I have a new layout to share made for my November inspiration using gorgeous Maja Design papers, Dusty Attic chipboard and 49 and Market flowers.

And again I found on Pinterest a photo that inspired me to create that romantic layout in red and green tones. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

The paper I used is the ”Walk With Me” from the Vintage Romance collection and I started by applying a coat of clear gesso. Then, I created texture with Finnabair icing paste in White Gold and a stencil. When the paste dried, I randomly stamped using 49 and Market stamp sets. I added color with the Lindy’s Gang ”Edelweiss Moss Green” and ”Greased Lightnin’ Green” sprays.

Next, I painted the ”Flower Buds #2” with Finnabair Royal Red and Golden Moss acrylic paints. Continued with the ”Ornate Motifs #2” and the title which were also painted with the Golden Moss paint and then some wax in Green Brocade was randomly rubbed on them. And lastly, I used the Finnabair Sparks paint in Raven Black to color the ”Fancy Label” chipboard.

I layered all the gorgeous elements around my photo and added in some 49 and Market  flowers from the ”Blossom Blends, Country & Cottage Blooms” sets.

At last, I added art stones, glass beads and glitter and made splatters with white gesso diluted with water.

I hope you enjoyed my project!

Thank you for stopping by!

Hello and welcome Maja Design friends. Tina Ollett with you today to share a moodboard inspired creation. As you may already be aware,  Maja Design’s moodboard challenge is now up. Here is a glimpse for those who have not as yet seen it. Absolutely stunning!! A big thankyou to Marie Janson for all of her creativity putting these together every month.

And this is my take on the gorgeous moodboard using the new release collection of Holiday in the Alps.

I have titled this layout “Merry Christmas”. I hunted for a photo fit for this project for a long time. I had to dig very deep and then come across this. I cannot ever remember seeing this photo amongst my pics but there it was. A photo of all 3 of my beautiful children caught in the moment of opening gifts on Christmas morning. So many beautiful memories are bought about by this photo. Isn’t it a beautiful thing that as scrapbookers we can relive the moment when creating.

Anyway more about the project. I have as previously mentioned used the new release designed by the very talented Marie Janson…. “Holiday in the Alps”. She has created an absolutely amazing collection. I am not huge on Christmas but this collection just rocked my world. I can see myself doing lots more in the coming weeks. Below are the papers I have used.

Snowflakes bs

Snowmen bs

I used the striped paper “Snowmen” as my background pieces and tore the blue sheet Snowflakes to sit through the middle of the project and the remaining pieces were made as photo matting for my two photos. I also decided a little bit later to add in some brown. So I added in the patterned paper “A New Year”.

On my background I added in some texture paste through Dusty Attic’s Starry Night stencil and then sprinkled over Sparkling Dust from Dress My Craft.

I have framed my photos using some gorgeous ornate frame chipboards from Dusty Attic. These were dressed in acrylic paints and inks. I also added in a couple of the Swirly frames and cut them into several pieces. They were dressed in Liquid Pearls and sprinkled over with Sparkling Dust.

I found some gorgeous silver branches whilst out shopping this week which fit perfectly for this project. I didn’t even have to colour them. Just cut and adhered.

I have also added in some gorgeous little pinecones. These were spritzed in an irridescent clear spray and dusted with Sparkling Dust.

So that is it. A little bit of Christmas inspiration using this month gorgeous moodboard. I hope you find time to join us in the challenge. Thankyou so much for popping by here today and taking the time to look. We appreciate it.

Until next time take care and happy scrapping.

Good morning, Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂

I’m sure you have already seen our latest release, the Holiday In The Alps collection! 18 gorgeously vintage patterns, introducing the winter season with Christmas images and scenes of winter holidays in the Alps, feature only 3 colours, but still give rich and varied background for you winter and Christmas projects. But not only! Just take a look at my today’s layout:

Not a sign of winter, Christmas or even sports 😀 I used theme-neutral patterns to create this fun boy page with photos of my godson.

I layered three papers, tow of them hand-torn to create uneven, distressed edges and on that background I placed my photos and decorated them with flowers and metal embellishments:

I die-cut the title word in glitter foam and placed it upon a chipboard heart:

As a finishing touch I added some buttons here and there and splashed the layout with white acrylic paint.

I really like the way it turned out, light and cheerful 🙂 What do you think?

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: die: My Favourite Things; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; metal embellishments: mitform; chipboard: scrap.com.pl

Are you going use this collection for Christmas/winter projects only, or do you tend to use themed collections for other occasions too?

Hugs!

Hello Maja fans!

Today, I would like to share a new layout made for my September inspiration using papers from the gorgeous ”Enjoying Outdoors” collection. As usual, I’ve also used 49 and Market flowers, Dusty Attic chipboard and Finnabair moulds to embellish my page and achieve a romantic and elegant feeling.

As always, I found my photo on Pinterest and before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

I used the back side of the ”Beautiful Trees” paper and made several layers with torn pieces of the ”Having Tea in the Sun” paper on the background. I also used the back side of the same paper to mat my photo. To start, I applied a coat of clear gesso and then, I created texture with the Finnabair White Gold icing paste and a stencil. When the paste dried, I used the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Edelweiss Moss Green and Greased Lightnin’ Green sprays to add color.

Next, I applied paper paste on the chipboards to make them textured and painted them with the Finnabair Golden Moss acrylic paint.

Then, I layered all the gorgeous elements around my photo and added in some 49 and Market flowers.

Papers used:

I hope you enjoyed my project!

Until next time happy crafting!

Sweet Child O’Mine

Good morning, dear Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂

I’m sorry to dissapoint you if you expected some good ol’ rock now – even though I love that Guns’n’Roses’ classic, this post is going to be about a true sweet child of mine 😉

Going through some photos I took just two years ago I’ve been shocked to see how my eldest boy has changed! He’s no longer a sweet kiddo, and although he’s a sweet young man now I still miss that little boy of whom I thought “He’s so big now” while taking that photo… And to embrace the sweetness theme of the layout, I used the Denim&Girls collection to make this layout 🙂

I used scraps of various papers to mat the photo and to hand-cut some tags and banners to decorate it. I added flowers, acrylic gems, sequins and clay embellishments to complete my design. The title is composed of various golden foam letters – I used up some leftovers and added visual interest to the words as well 🙂

As you can see, you can make a boy page using pink papers of a girly collection too 😉 What do you think?

Here are my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: letters: American Crafts; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; button: Lemoncraft; sequins, gems, clay elements: my stash.

Thank you for visiting our blog today, make sure to come back for some more inspiration every day 🙂
