Hi everyone! How are you? Here in Norway the Spring has come. It is so lovely to hear the birds singing and the bumblebee sum. So I was inspired to make a Spring card for todays post. Hope you like it.

And what fit better than to use the lovely Vintage Spring Basics Collection! They are perfect for any Spring card.

I have coloured some cute Magnolia stamps in the same colours as the papers. I use Distress Ink, re-inkers and Markers for my colouring.

The sentiment is also from Magnolia and the Sumbeam Collection.

The hedgehogs are sitting on tree logs. And you can make them moving 🙂

By pulling the tag on the right side here.

Here a better view on the layers and the logs.

A close up.

And here they are pushed in to the middel of the card again. I was inspired by the super talented Jiwon Jung to make this.

The fence is made with a Magnolia die and Maja papers, so that it stands out a bit. That way it is easier to move the hedgehogs. I have added some Stickles – Star Dust to the image, butterflies and small flowers.

Another closeup.

The metal birds are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Here is a video of the card:

And the list of papers used:

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja Design blog today!

Hugs from,

Dream Big

Goodmorning Lovely Maja Design Fans,

Today I am filling in for the lovely Nancy since she always makes such lovely cards, I’d like to show you a card I made with the newest collection combined with “Vintage Spring Basics” & “Vintage Autumn Basics”….although she is a queen in making cards I tried to make this card a pretty as she always does. The flowers I used are by 49 and Market and the stamp is designed by our very own Pascale….I just love the clock sheet from the Vintage Autumn Basics so much I almost always use them on my work what is you favorite Maja Design sheet?

I just cut some of the leaves from You’re Invited sheet to add to my flower cluster I just love how that turned out. Since I am a sucker for the color purple I do love that combination with the new collection. The chipboard I used are by The Dusty Attic and to match them to my card I added some wax on them.

Maja Design papers used: Celebration: You’re Invited, You’re Invited bs & the 6×6 Paper Pad, Vintage Spring Basics: 10th of April, Vinatge Autumn Basics: no.XVI

I would also like to show you some masculine tags I made for a different design team but with the lovely Maja Design “Celebration”collection.

Thank you so much for your visit I hope I have inspired you to play with your Maja Design papers you have in you stash or even order new products I have used here.

Love xoxo

Goodmorning lovely Maja Fans,

Oh boy do I dislike cold & rainy weather it’s been raining for days {and freezing at night} now at where I live. So for today I wanted to show you a layout made with lots of flowers and a spring picture of my cousin Jaime & her boyfriend Weston who live in the States oh how I love Facebook 😉 This layout was made with both the I Wish & Vintage Spring Basics collection. The flowers I used are by 49 and Market and totally fit the purple color from the Vintage Spring Basics collection like the other flowers fitted with the I wish collection. The chipboard I used is by The Dusty Attic and I treated them with acrylic paint, gesso and rust paste.

20171201_1556321

First I added some stamps on my background sheet that I recently bought, over that a stencil that looks like my stamp. The outer edges of my layout are punched with holes and then were traced with a blunt knife to get the upward effect you see. On my picture you see a piece of chipboard that looks like strings I added some extra thread on it to match my flower clusters a bit more. Then I added some gesso on top of the thread. To give my layout a fresh look I added some white flowers too….I really love that picture <3

Hello and a huge welcome to you! Today I am here to share my next project which I created using Maja’s gorgeous Vintage Spring Basics combined with Coffee in the Arbour. If you keep scrolling I will share a few close-ups and more details of how I used these beautiful papers.

“Best Friends”

I love yellows…….. and browns just seems to be the thing I go to next! So for this creation I came across this photo of my gorgeous youngest daughter and our furbaby Rafael some time ago in the back yard at home. It was one of those lucky shots that it was fortunate that they were looking my way at the correct time. I had printed this photo off a few times and I never liked the way this came out in the sepia tone so I had stashed it away. But for these project the colours fit beautifully, wouldn’t you agree?

2017-08-21 Best Friend 006 (600x800)

With papers tearing seems to be a natural progession. My first sheet (background sheet) was  Coffee in the Arbour’s Lemoncurd. The soft tones to this paper drew me to it instantly. I did a little stenciling on it but mainly left it’s beauty remain. I then cut the frame from the Vintage Spring Basics 1st of March Sheet. Did some distressing and adhered it to the background piece. With the remainder of the 1st of March I did some tearing and adhered the torn middle section to the page.  I love the images of the calender and other elements that are this sheet. They are just gorgeous and really lend itself to my project!

I also used the back of 1st of March to help the photo pop a little. Again tearing papers to fit the matting of my photo. The other torn pieces were layered amoungst the chipboards and flowers and clocks that I cut from from the Vintage Autumn Basics No.XVI. These were cut carefully and sanded and distressed to give that worn feeling.

2017-08-21 Best Friend 009 - Copy (800x600)

I used some Dusty Attic chipboards inked with Distress Inks and also some paper moulds that I made a few weeks back along with a charm that I picked up in my travels to Taiwan a few months back. I love the simplicity of it.  When everything was layered I then dry brushed my elements to soften the page and then added in a few microbeads with some 3D Gel.

Welcome back and hello!
I hope this post finds you happy and well. Today I have for you a layout inspired by a gorgeous photo of my eldest daughter. This I have titled

“Dream”…….

I have used a combination of Maja Designs gorgeously stunning Vintage Summer and Vintage Spring Basics collection to create my layered background of torn and distressed papers.
I can’t tell you how often I have wanted to use this piece of chipboard……but finally it happened for the perfect project. I think it just fit wonderfully here. You can see these pieces above cut into 2’s and tucked amoungst my gorgeous Maja paper layers. Yay I was so happy when this worked!
I love this Title chipboard. They are totally gorgeous. This one was dressed in some Sugar Plum acrylic paint and then I toned it down a little to compliment my page with some white gesso and of course some Dress My Craft sparkling dust……..
I have also used a Swirly Frame chipboard. It was cut into two and used to frame these beautiful photo’s of my daughter Ashlea. We held a Mad Hatters Tea Party a little while back and she dressed as the Queen and looked just stunning. These photos of course were changed to a Sepia tone to help fit my layout and the moodboard.
Here you can see my Fleur de Lis coloured with inks and paints. Atop of it I sat the small Decorative #1 frame and then on top of that a Mini Clock Face. The mini clockfaces are the perfect fit for this frame!!
Okay and I love me a little or quite a lot however you look at it, of the Dress My Craft
Princess Mix Sequins. I also gave my layout a good sprinkling of  Dress My Craft’s Sparkling Dust just to make it shine that little bit more.
I also added in some florals but I kept it quite minimal for me that is. Above you can see the 49andMarket Floral Mixology flowers that I used. These are the Pina Colada coloured florals that I changed up by wiping over with a little Dusty Sugar Plum acrylic paint.
I have also tucked in a little lace and muslin to keep the layout as soft as possible.
And lastly these gorgeous Heart Arrows. I have dressed both the large and the small chippies in some Star Dust Stickles to really make them pop. I then added them into my clusters of flowers.
Well that is all from me today. I hope you have a beautiful week and find some time for yourself !
Big hugs …..
