Welcome dear Maja friends. I hope this blog post finds you all well and happy. Today I am here to share a very simple card I created using the ever so versatile Sofiero collection. I have fallen madly and deeply in love with the softness of this paper collection.

2017-04-11 Heartfelt Love 012 (1024x768)

I kept this card very simple, as much as it didn’t feel right ……..it also did. Crazy I know but I had piles of flowers sitting around the card and adding flowers just distracted from the simple elegance of it.

Sofiero-L

I have used the 6 x 6 pack perfect for cardmaking. Enjoying the fragrance was used as the background and I layered another strip of it along with Strolling down the path, with a little lace. See simple!

2017-04-11 Heartfelt Love 008 (768x1024)

I used some Dusty Attic Chipboards along with a metal swallow embellishment to help decorate the card. The elegant scroll was dressed with liquid pearls and the cute Cameo Ribbon was coated with Gesso. I then cut an oval shape from the Royal Summer Residence to help it pop a little. I then highlighted them a little more with a little Star Dust Stickles.

2017-04-11 Heartfelt Love 007 (768x1024)

I tucked in a little muslin and then added in some sweet tiny little micro beads.

2017-04-11 Heartfelt Love 006 (768x1024) (768x1024)

The little swallow I think just completed this little project. It was primed with a little gesso and then I sprinkled over a little colour of Pale Pink Mica Powder. And finally I have topped the embellishment cluster with the word strip “Heartfelt Love”.

Well that is all from me today. I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Maja Papers and create something small and simple, but very very elegant.

Until next time take care my friends and happy scrapping. xxx

A big big welcome back to the home of Maja Design.  Today I have for you my next Maja Design Team creation.

It was so exciting to hear that “Soferio” an old favourite was being reprinted into a new edition with an additional Die Cut Sheet and Monochromes.

Can’t wait to share with you my next creation but until then I present to you

“Love you to the moon and back”……..

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 023 (1020x1024)

As soon as I saw this first sheet of the collection called Strolling down the rose path, I instantly knew that this was where I would start. I teamed it with “Enjoying the fragrance” to create this lolly coloured layout of my gorgeous girl.

Sofiero Collection

Enjoying the fragrance bs

Enjoying the fragrance bs

My starting point for this layout was to stamp and stencil with texture paste the background of Enjoying the fragrance. I have used Distress Ink Ground Espresso with a 49andMarket Stamp – Ethereal Stamp Set.  The edges of the paper were also stamped and powder embossed with another 49andMarket Stamp Set called Gabi’s Line Stitch . Once this was heat set I cut a wavy pattern from around the stamped image and then backed this to Enjoying the fragrance bs.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 002 (768x1024)

My photo was matted using pieces from the 6 x 6 paper pack of the same papers. They are so darn cute perfect for matting this sizing of photos.

As you can see above I have also tucked in some small snippets of miscellaneous lace I found sitting on my desk.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 016 (1024x768)

My photo and paper matting were sat upon some Dusty Attic chipboards that I put together to make a unique heart shape frame. These chipboards were gessoed and then inked randomly with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I also rubbed a little Liquid Pearl “Blush” over and around the edges to pick up on the pink shades from the papers.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 020 (768x1024)

My Dusty Attic title “Love you to the moon and back” is a very special saying that my gorgeous girl and I have used for each other for as long as I remember. So it was only fitting to use it here. This was dressed in Finnabairs Art Extravagance Texture Paste White Crackle. Once it was dried I rubbed in some of the Blush Liquid Pearls and then rubbed over the textures with a little more of the Distress Ink.

2017-03-28 Love you to the moon and back 021 (768x1024)

My clusters of flowers that I have used here are the newest of the 49andMarket collections.

Shimmer and Shine in both the Blush and Ivory Melange. They compliment these papers perfectly!

And one more sneak peek!

For your convenience I have made a full and complete list of the materials used for this creation below.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today. As I said before I have another coming up using this same beautiful beautiful collection.

I can’t wait to share it with you! Until then happy scrapping.

Hello and a very warm welcome to you. Thank you for joining me here today. I have my second Design Team layout for the month today and yet again I am using the gorgeously stunning Summertime collection. I am not usually into red but this has really got me working on it. I have simply titled this “Sunshine”, well because I live in a very warm climate, sunshine is what we see the most of and the day I took this photo of my littlelist it was exactly that …..Sunshine.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 069 (800x795)

This layout was very labor intensive for me. I had laid it all out and then of course changed my mind part way through and changed it all back around again. I have used Dusty Attic’s February Moodboard as inspiration for the starting point of my layout, that being the sketch in a sense.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 054 (800x611)

I kept my layout very clean without using too many mediums this time around. I have used Summertime’s “Light Scarlet” and “Is always the best, bs” alternately as background pieces. I hand cut a border into “Is always the best” and distressed a lot of the sections that I wanted the “Light Scarlet” to show through. I have also used only one sheet of the “Light Scarlet” but gutting the centre section and cutting banners from the middle section for the inserts of my Die Cut cards.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 034 (600x800)

Summertime-P

“Smell the Roses” would have to be my favourite piece from this collection along with the Garden Diecuts and the Polka Dots, oh heck the whole lot really is a favourite with me. I truly could keep using this collection over and over again.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 038 (600x800)

As you can see above, I have used the strip from the base of “Light Scarlet” and a banner running through the middle of my layout. They are really gorgeous the strips………I never ever throw mine away. Always perfect for a title or just a little subheading tucked in a flower cluster.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 058

And speaking of flowers, well I have used some……well a lot, along with some gorgeous velvet leaves from Green Tara and some miscellaneous rose buds on long stems which I just adore. I embellished the remainder of my layout using Dusty Attic chipboards. They were dressed in Liquid Pearls and gesso. I have also scattered in some seed beads for good measure and a little cheesecloth to soften the layout a little further. Well that is it from me today. I so hope I have inspired you in some way to get out those summer photos and scrap the special memories behind them. Until next time take care and happy scrapping. Tina-sign

Welcome and a very happy Valentine’s Day to you wherever you live in the world.

May your day be filled with love, flowers and chocolate, lots and lots of chocolate………..!

Tina O with you here today to share my next Maja Design creation. The title for this layout was taken from a beautiful beautiful quote I found in a big box of rub-ons this morning, one I had not heard of before. But it will be one that I use again one day soon. It goes……

“Love wasn’t put in your heart to stay, love isn’t love until it’s given away”

2017-02-14 Valentines Day 039 (796x800)

For my scrapbook layout project here today I kept everything very clean indeed. I did a simple stamped border with embossing powders. Again as always I have added in some fussy cut elements from the Summertime (In the Garden) – Smell the roses patterned paper.

2017-02-14 Valentines Day 047 (800x600)

I had the photo printed of twice in two differing sizes and then layered them one on top of the other. I framed one photo with the Summertime (In the Garden) Die Cut frames. The centre was cut from this and then used behind the back of my chipboard window. So cute!!

Summertime-P1

2017-02-14 Valentines Day 048 (800x600)

I have added in some gorgeous lace that has been cut up and layered sometimes 4 times over itself. Some of the lace was left a little distressed to keep with a shabby feel.

2017-02-14 Valentines Day 051 (600x800)

I have used lots of yummy Dusty Attic chipboards for this project. They were simply covered with Crackle Paste and coloured with China Black H2O’s, and a little distress crackle and some Star Dust Stickles.

2017-02-14 Valentines Day 053 (600x800)

I used a Sizzix Die-Cut for my title “Love”. I layered it up a couple of times and dressed similarly to the other chipboards but I left it a little darker so it could stand out on the page. I also added in some handmade accetates to add to the layout another layer.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed your time here. Stay tuned there will be more again tomorrow. Until then happy scrapping.Tina-sign

A very warm welcome to the wonderful Maja Designs blog. It feels like it has been forever since I was last here.  Today my family and I are going to a engagement dinner for a lovely young couple who, we as a family have grown with over the past few years. It is ever so sweet to see these two uniting. So I thought I would create a simple but elegant card for them to help celebrate their unity as a couple.

This is titled

“Truly, Madly, Deeply”

Truly Madly, Deeply (5)

When I first had the idea , I knew I wanted to create something very elegant but not too vintage as they are only a very young couple. I also wanted to keep it clean and crisp and I think I kept to my plan pretty much.

Vintage-Romance-P (1)

I had used the Vintage Romance collection previously with another creation and I had a few scraps leftover which is what I have used for this card. They are as below. I only used the strip from the bottom of Champagne which says “Truly, Madly, Deeply”. I cut and distressed this piece and used this to run through the middle of my embellishments. I have used both sides of  Happily Ever After and torn and layered these papers to a baby blue cardstock card measuring 4 inches x 9 inches. My favourite size at this present time. I think this size cards keeps things elegant and stylish.

From the Ephemera Cards sheet I cut the doves and the hearts to help embellish my cards. I have also used the blue frame from Love Notes to sit under the doves and hearts as you can see below in the close-up photos.

Truly Madly, Deeply (3)

I have used a beautiful motif that is an absolute favourite. I have cut and extended this to fit under my ephemera. I have also added in a little cheesecloth along with some tiny blue roses and a couple of petals from a material flower.

Truly Madly, Deeply (2)

I dusted over a little gesso to the flowers and other embellishments to keep it calming. Then a little Star Dust Stickles was wiped over areas included the hearts and doves of the ephemera piece.

Truly Madly, Deeply (6)

The card from another angle layered around some more gorgeous laces and motifs. This collection is a sure winner in my books. It is simply elegant! Well that is all from me today. I do hope that I have inspired you in some small way to create a little something for yourself or possibly a loved one.

A great excuse to create with Valentines Day only day away.

Until next time take care and happy crafting.
