A huge welcome to you! It’s Tina with you today to share my next Design Team creation.

This project for January, I have titled

…..”Forever Love”….

2017-01-17 2017-01-17 001 015 (800x800)

This, for me, was a layout of love. Scrapbooking for me is about the memories and sometimes the photos from the most special days of all, aren’t of the best quality but I always insist on using them no matter what. On our special day a professinal photographer was hired, but it was very unfortunate that during the development of our photos that something went horribly wrong. Due to the developing error we we did not receive a great deal of photo’s that were of a good quality or worthy of using to hang on our walls. We depended on our family and friends to help us with photo’s they had taken and this photo is one of them. We were so fortunate to have our two eldest attend our wedding. They were so excited the whole day through. My son walked me down the aisle with my Dad, something I will never forget and treasure always.

2017-01-17 2017-01-17 001 012 (600x800)

I am mad for anything at present that I can fussy cut from papers. And I found this in the Vintage Autumn Basics No. II sheet that was in my gorgeous Maja stash. I have cut at least a half of this sheet up and layered it in and around the page.

2017-01-17 Maja January 2017 031 (600x800)

You can see above in the bottom of the photo the layering of journalling cards that I cut from Vintage Spring Basics “Days to Remember” and also from the Vintage Romance collections “Love Notes”. Amongst the several layers of journal cards I have alternated mats of “Raspberry Jam Cookies” from the Coffee in the Arbour collection. Yes I have mixed a lot of collections this time around . I find the beauty of Maja Designs ranges is that they just blend together so beautifully.
2017-01-17 Maja January 2017 032 (600x800)

I have layered the  project with paper doilies, lace motifs, Dusty Attic’s gorgeous chipboards cut up, muslin and even a sewing spool. The sewing spool was wrapped with the bar strip from Vintage Romance’s bside of “Passion”. Passion was used as my background piece with the frame cut from Vintage Romance’s “She’s my Lady”.

2017-01-17 2017-01-17 001 060

This here, is the side on view of the base of the photo. The lace motif I have used here has been cut into many many pieces and divided throughout the layout to help give it movement.

2017-01-17 2017-01-17 001 036 (800x600)

I have tucked a few doilies around to help break up the pink from the flowers and the background.

2017-01-17 2017-01-17 001 041 (800x600)

I just loved these clocks found on the Vintage Spring Basics sheet. I have used the largest of the clocks and cut it to sit behind the photo so it did not overtake the whole layout. I cut some of the smaller clocks with the roses to sit on top of the large one layered.

Well hello to you and a very very Happy New Year!! I certainly hope 2017 is kind to you and blesses you with many wonderful suprises.

Tina O with you today to share with you my first Maja Project for the year!!

Unfortunately the start of 2017 has not been so kind to me. I had a small incident whereby I dislocated my shoulder…..arghhhhhh. So this typing is done one handed (lefthanded) with my other in a sling. Scrapping has been somewhat difficult and let’s just say it takes twice as long to do things! So I am hoping for a very speedy recovery. But with that being said I still got to meet my deadline and here it is…..

“Dream with your eyes wide open”

Dream with your eyes wide open Main Photo (800x795)

My youngest girl just adores our fur family and every chance I get, I photograph her with them. I shot this photo last week with our beautiful boy Rafael and I just adore it. My project here today was created using Maja Design’s “Enjoying Outdoors” collection. This was one of my very first collections to choose when I first come on board Maja. I so love all the earthy tones combined with the pinks and purples. For my background I chose to use “Woodlands”. I preped the background with clear gesso and some Crackle texture paste through the Kaisercraft 12 x 12 Damask Stencil. I also did a small amount of stamping with some Walnut Stain distress ink.

2017-01-03 January 021 (800x600)

I used Maja Designs Enjoying Outdoors both front and back to create my layered background for the photo. I tore and distress these papers and I also added in torn journaling cards and tags from the Enjoying Outdoors Tags & Journaling sheet. I tucked in some torn paper and white doilies around the photo matting to help start my page off. You can see some of the layering I did above.

2017-01-03 January 028 (800x600) (800x600)

Above and below you will see that I have used quite a bit of chipboard . I used the Dusty Attic String Frame to frame my photo which I printed off in a sepia tone. The String Frame was inked in Walnut Stain Distress Ink and coated with a small amount of Distress Crackle Paint to highlight and deepen the colour. I then wrapped moss and green florists wire around the String Frame. This was then adhered to the photo.

2017-01-03 January 029 (800x600)

You can see the string frame above.

2017-01-03 January 026 (600x800)

Another view of the string frame wrapped in moss. You can also see here some of the foliage chipboards that I added into the flower cluster. These were dressed the same as the string frame but with just a hint of Forest Moss Distress Ink added in.

2017-01-03 January 018 (800x600)

I love this title chipboard I have used here…..It would have to be a favourite quote of mine.

“Dream with your eyes wide open”

This was dressed in Antique White acrylic and then I inked the edges with some Walnut Stain and Forest Moss to compliment the rest of the project.

2017-01-03 January 027 (800x600) (800x600)

These little tags from the Tags and Journaling sheet are just gorgeous and I love adding in little elements with numbers that just don’t mean anything, but is a lovely addition to add interest.

Below I have listed a complete materials list for your convenience.

“Merry Christmas” by Tina Ollett

Hello once again. Tina O with you here today with a little Christmas cheer.

I, as a rule do not do cards, but I felt as I should as we a coming into Christmas in only a few days time. With this in mind and the fact that it has been a long time since I have created a card, I have kept it pretty simple. I wanted to do something a little vintage with a shabby touch.

2016-12-20 maja card 008 (718x800)

To create this card I started with a Kraft Cardstock base and cut a 23 x 10cm card base. The top of this was then layered with some Dusty Attic corrugated board. And on top of the corrugated I have used the new “I Wish” collection. Because I wanted a vintage feel I stayed with the rustic brown colours with the addition of cream and green. I tore section of both “Those memories will last” bs and also “You a happy New Year” bs. These would have to be my favourites pieces from the collection as you will remember I used them in a previous layout using the I Wish Collection.

2016-12-20 maja card 011 (600x800)

The christmas leaves I have used for this project were dressed with some Walnut Gold glimmermist to take away the darkness of the green but also to add in a touch of gold.

2016-12-20 Maja 005 (600x800)

I wrapped the corrugation with a large piece of twine and left it hanging to the side. Over the top of the twine I added in some Dusty Attic Baroque Chipboard to cover my knot which was embossed and sanded.

2016-12-20 Maja 010 (600x800)

I have cut the postage stamp from the Ephemera Sheet and added it tucked above the cluster just peeping out.

2016-12-20 Maja 006_edited-1 (600x800)

I dry brushed my embellishments with white gesso to tone the card colours down a little and to keep within the shabby/ vintage style.

2016-12-20 Maja 003 (600x800)

My title “Merry Christmas” was cut from the base strip of “I wish those memories would last”. These are always perfect for that little added addition to any card or layout. So don’t throw them away!!

Welcome back ! Tina O with you today to share my next Design Team project.

We recently celebrated our youngests 12th birthday, and thinking of what to buy her was a nightmare. It kept me awake for many nights let me tell you. But one night I had an epiphany!! Chickens!!! My husband thought that I had lost my marbles finally, but it turns out that it is the best birthday present she has ever received. This photo was taken of her a couple of days after she received all 6 of them. I think this photo captures her happiness. She is truly devoted to these little guys who may I add have grown so very quickly in the past weeks. They love to sit on her shoulder and eat from her hands. She even does her violin practice outside with them whilst they are running free under her strict supervision. It is just a beautiful memory to save. So with this I created a soft pretty page to help her remember her happiness at receiving these little guys. Oh and by the way the little fellow in the photo has been named “Duck”! So funny, but as funny as it sounds it really suits her!

2016-12-03 Happiness 009 (800x800)

Ok so now onto the layout. Like I said I wanted to create something something soft and pretty, so to do this I have used  7th of April from the Vintage Spring Basics collection teamed with the 2nd of April bs. When I started out I really didn’t have much of an idea of where I was going with it but as the days rolled on I started to lean towards more of a mixed media layout.

Vintage-Spring-Basics-P

8th of March / 7th of March and 2nd of April bs

2016-12-03 Happiness 018 (600x800)

On the gorgeous 7th of April patterned paper ( I love polka dots) I have firstly embossed a favourite stamp “Postmarks’ randomly with Aged Silver embossing enamel. I dressed my Dusty Attic  chipboard ATC frame and Page Pebble #9 with a little Buttercup Liquid Pearls and then randomly added in a little of the Aged Silver embossing enamel to tie it all together.

2016-12-03 Happiness 020 (600x800)

Of course to pretty this layout up I had to add in some lace to help the photos pop from the background. Also to help with this I added in some Inka Gold watered down and beautiful blooms.

2016-12-03 Happiness 021 (600x800)

Vintage Spring Basics 8th of March was used for my little additions of those tiny tiny butterflies….they are just so adorable. And of course and yet again you might say, the clocks from The Vintage Autumn Basics sheet XVI. Love me some clocks to represent time! Always a great addition to any page I think. These have been dressed in Distress Crackle Paint.

2016-12-03 Happiness 022 (600x800)

You can see more of the lace here and also the chipboard floral frame #2. The effect the Aged Silver embossing powder creates is more than stunning!

Other Materials Used to complete this project are:

Dusty Attic Floral Frame #2, Page Pebbles #9 & ATC Frame

Versamark Embossing Ink

Stampendous Aged Silver Embossing Powder

Tim Holtz Distress Crackle

Viva Inka Gold Turkis Turquoise

Liquid Pearls (Buttercup)

Kaisercraft Clear Stamp – Postmarks

Large Lace Motifs

Flower Stems

Well that is all I have for you today. I am already working on my next layout. Hope I can surprise you with something a little different!! Until next time take great care of yourselves. x

Hello there and welcome. Tina with you today to share my newest creation using Maja Designs beautiful Vintage Summer Basics. This has been titled, “Because of you…”.

2016-11-20 November 033

I love nothing better than to tear papers and sometimes I get a bit carried away. When it comes time to layering I make it more than difficult to jigsaw it back together. And usually I have something in mind and the end result is nothing at all like that picture in my head that I started with. This is exactly what happened when creating this layout. The picture in my head was to be predominately browns with a smiggin of pinks. But alas this was not the case here……

Vintage-Summer-Basics-P

I have used the gorgeous Vintage Summer Basics for the overall designing of my layout. My Base page was 1909 bs. I absolutely love the detailed background on this but I felt it still needed a little more to help my photo pop. I also did a little random stamping using Gabi’s Postcard Acrylic Stamps.

and Vintage Autumn Basics No XVI

2016-11-20 November 004_edited-1

The Vintage Summer Basics 1905 paper was cut and used as a border. It was distressed, torn in sections and adhered to frame my photo. I also used some cool Dusty Attic Stitching chipboard over the top. I have torn the chipboard to give a rustic charm to my page.

2016-11-20 November 008_edited-1

I have also used the Vintage Summer Basics 1923 for my stamped title quote which reads:

Because of you, I laugh a little harder,

Cry a little less and smile a little more.

2016-11-20 November 007_edited-1

Here you can see all the pieces of Dusty chippies that I have added to this dimensional cluster. The skeleton clock, foliage and the gorgeous frame. They were all dressed in crackle paste and distress inks. The skeleton clock was embossed and then sanded to create a vintage worn look.

2016-11-20 November 004_edited-1

And again, here you can see the 1908 patterned paper used along with 1905 and 1923 as the matting foundation for my photo.

2016-11-20 November 010

You can see here the gorgeous detail on the background paper. I have also added in some art stones and cheesecloth to soften my layout a little more. The clusters were all dry brushed with gesso to tone down the colours and bring it all together. I have made a full list below of all the materials used in creating this layout for your convenience.
