Goodmorning Maja friends,

Today I am here with you all to show you a card I made with the lovely “Vintage Baby”collection! I am getting more and more addicted to that collection because of the soft colors and that you have both blue & pink sheets in it. For today it’s a baby boy card with handmade flowers and a rattle shaker with metal pieces in it {also some beads and glass glitter}

20161214_133401_HDR000000000001

I cut out different pieces of the blue & darker brown papers and placed them on top of each other to get more dimension, underneath the last layer I added some cheese cloth and a paper doily that I cut in half. The card is all made out of dies from a manufacturer I design for. Sorry for the different shades in the pictures but we have some bad weather and my camera is acting up!

What is great about using dies is that you can make your own flowers and you don’t have to worry about the colors not fitting well on your work. I always had a problem finding the perfect blue shade color for my work and now that problem is being solved by making my own flowers. Maja Design papers really allows you to make beautiful paper flowers from their collections because of the high quality & thickness of the papers.

Actually I used three other Maja Design collections here too, the blue flowers are made with “Nyhavn”collection! The flower with the beads in the center is made with the “Vintage Romance” collection and the feathers & leaves are from the “Vintage Summer Basics” collection and they all go so well together don’t you think so too??

Maja Design papers used: Vintage Summer Basics: 1905 bs, Nyhavn: Old Townhouses bs, Vintage Romance: Marriage proposal bs, Vintage Baby: It’s a boy bs, Adorable bs, Special Delivery bs & Die cuts bs

Hi there! I will show you a giftbox I made with wonderful papers from Maja Design. It is not Christmassy at all, but I will give you the tutorial on how I made the simple box; and who knows, maybe you want to try to make a box like this in a Christmassy style?! 🙂

1

Cut out two papers measuring 30 x 7 cm. Then fold both at 6 cm.

2

Then fold at 10,5 and 21.

3

Make cuts like this.

4

Then start with the lid on the box. Cut out two papers measuring 4 x 30 cm. Also here fold at 1 cm first.

5

Then fold the other way at each 10,6. This is because the lid has to be a bit larger than the bottom part of the box.

6

Make the cuts.

7

Put the parts together like this.

8

And this.

9

Cut out parts to fasten inside the bottom of the box and the lid. (10,4 x 10,4 and 10,5 x 10,5).

10

Like this.

11

Then use the background die to cut out the bottom part and one on the lid. I use a harder cardboard for this.

12

I also have painted the edges with white Gesso.

After putting the parts together and decorate them with beautiful Maja Papers, I have decorated the box on the top with different elements made with DooHickey dies from Magnolia (Vintage Box vol 3). I will show you some details:

I just felt I had to decorate the whole box with butterflies:)

The lovely photos and letters are also Maja Design papers.

Hello there and welcome. Tina with you today to share my newest creation using Maja Designs beautiful Vintage Summer Basics. This has been titled, “Because of you…”.

2016-11-20 November 033

I love nothing better than to tear papers and sometimes I get a bit carried away. When it comes time to layering I make it more than difficult to jigsaw it back together. And usually I have something in mind and the end result is nothing at all like that picture in my head that I started with. This is exactly what happened when creating this layout. The picture in my head was to be predominately browns with a smiggin of pinks. But alas this was not the case here……

Vintage-Summer-Basics-P

I have used the gorgeous Vintage Summer Basics for the overall designing of my layout. My Base page was 1909 bs. I absolutely love the detailed background on this but I felt it still needed a little more to help my photo pop. I also did a little random stamping using Gabi’s Postcard Acrylic Stamps.

The Vintage Summer Basics 1905 paper was cut and used as a border. It was distressed, torn in sections and adhered to frame my photo. I also used some cool Dusty Attic Stitching chipboard over the top. I have torn the chipboard to give a rustic charm to my page.

I have also used the Vintage Summer Basics 1923 for my stamped title quote which reads:

Because of you, I laugh a little harder,

Cry a little less and smile a little more.

2016-11-20 November 007_edited-1

Here you can see all the pieces of Dusty chippies that I have added to this dimensional cluster. The skeleton clock, foliage and the gorgeous frame. They were all dressed in crackle paste and distress inks. The skeleton clock was embossed and then sanded to create a vintage worn look.

And again, here you can see the 1908 patterned paper used along with 1905 and 1923 as the matting foundation for my photo.

2016-11-20 November 010

You can see here the gorgeous detail on the background paper. I have also added in some art stones and cheesecloth to soften my layout a little more. The clusters were all dry brushed with gesso to tone down the colours and bring it all together. I have made a full list below of all the materials used in creating this layout for your convenience.

Hello, today I am here to share with you, a Baby LO I did, using Maja Design’s Vintage Summer Basics Collection….

The Chipboard used is from Dusty Attic

Here are some close ups…..

I did distressed paper layers, some punch work,, & used lace in the layers. I then hand stitched the back ground, & the top & bottom pieces. I glued the top & bottom onto the back ground only on the outside edges, so I can tuck in embellishments….

fb69aa2e8eeb4f0b86b9311756c8cd63

I also did some stencil work. I painted the DA Lacey Nameplate with white gesso, & once the gesso dried I painted it with Shimmerz Inklings Sheer Bliss. I then inked the edges & cut out a piece from the 1891 sheet & glued it on to the name plate….

be563d5a23304a81be679184f0117375

I painted the rest of the chipboard with clear gesso, then some of the pieces with clear crackle. I then painted the pieces “brown” Shimmerz Inklings Chocolate & Diamonds, “Teal” LuminArt Silk, teal zircon, (once the teal dried I topped it off with Shimmerz Sheer Bliss to tone it down). I used liquid pearls, robin’s egg for the pearls…..

Hello Maja Friends,

you know how much I love creating albums, soft, shabby and floral, so I’ve got one more to share with you.

This time I took only some shots, just to show how Maja Design papers are beautiful along with flowers.

Floral Handmade Album by Elena Olinevich sneak

I wanted it to be delicate and to look a bit fragile

Floral Handmade Album by Elena Olinevich sneak1

I’ve mixed 2 collactions – Vintage Spring basics and Vintage Summer basics, a perfect combination for me

Floral Handmade Album by Elena Olinevich 3

I left some papers white, I guess it adds a bit of freshness to it

Floral Handmade Album by Elena Olinevich 4

and the yellow, that I try to escape in my daily life, well I have to admit it looks so springy with the blue.

Floral Handmade Album by Elena Olinevich 5

I really love the mauve colors the 2 collections have, I guess thay are one of my favorite and it’s quite easy to create with those shades.

However I like the pale colors my album has.

I like adding die cuts around the fututre phot in the album , it help to pop up the main image then.
