Hello, Maja Fans, welcome to Maja Design blog today, and Maja’s place as well π
I hope you enjoy visiting our creative spaces and like to sit in our sofa π So far you have seen Jenny’s gorgeous room and Elena’s bright and cozy place – today I’d like you to invite to my small scrapheaven π
My room is so tiny it’s quite difficult to take photos inside – it has only about 2 x 3 m – but I’m still so happy I can have it for my own! It used to be my kids’ playing room, but after the grand overhaul of our flat I got the chance to take it π To save as much space as possible, we don’t have doors in most of the rooms, and so I have to struggle to keep my space rather clean-ish, in case somebody drops in to visit π Here’s the view you get at the doorstep:
When you enter (which is about half a step forward LOL), you see a wall full of furniture to your left – there’s really not enough room to swing a cat π Now I know what it looks like – plenty of stuff! But I like to store my embellies by colour, stamps by theme or category, papers by manufacturers, etc. – and that requires a lot of space and means plenty of boxes π Here, for example, I store my stamps, stickers and some of the dies, and the boxes hold flowers:
Here’s the cabinet with paper embellishments, chipboards, Prima flower tubes and bling and ribbons in the small boxes:
Here’s my tool and paper corner…well. I’m a paper freak and just can’t turn a blind eye to a beautiful pattern!
And if you add to that the fact I design for several shops and manufacturers, who send you that many papers:
…then no wonder I need so many shelves and boxes π
Now turn around and you have the working space. The drawers contain more embellies of every kind, but remember, I love detailed segregation, so there’s still a lot of space for more stuff π
Above the desk, on the shelves, you will find my buttons, Stickles glitter box, small stamps sets in the black file binders and on the top shelf – my season houses I’ve shared recently and handmade gifts from my scrapfriends from around the world π
Then you have metal and cardboard containers with various small embellies – for example, the reindeer boxes contain Christmas stuff π And can you see those two vintage cars? They are…candy boxes, now filled with flair buttons and album metal corners π
The right half of the desk with drawers beneath is my media centre π I keep my inks, mists, paints, mixed media and embossing powders here. Here’s also the place for all “dirty” work, hence the craft sheets. The mini drawers are where I keep brads (again, by colour and kind, like crystal or pearls π )
Finally, under the desk I keep scraps of papers – is it only me or is it normal not to throw away a bit of paper until it’s possible to punch a tiny circle out of it? π
And so, here’s where I create and spend most of my time (as it’s also my business office π ), often with my kids:
Thank you for getting here with me π
I hope you enjoyed the visit – drop by any time!
