Beautiful

Hello Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂

It’s Maja here to share a delicate, girly page I made with a photo of my beautiful niece:

mdbeautifulShe’s such a darling, sweet girl, so I wanted to give her photo a delicate, soft and ethereal background. Therefore I chose the Vintage Spring Basics papers and started by distressing and layering two sheets and then adding some textured pattern with white gesso:

mdbeautiful1Then around the photo I arranged the clusters of flowers, cut-outs and sme bling:

mdbeautiful2I had this plastic frame in my stash for ages and it turned out it makes a perfect match with a resin cameo. So I glued them together and placed among the flowers:

mdbeautiful3To add an interesting detail, I tore a bit of the bottom part of the papers and inserted a piece of lace:

mdbeautiful4I also used a little trick with this chipboard frame. Originally, it was smaller than the photo, so I cut it apart diagonally and placed above the photo corners:

mdbeautiful5I hope the layout well portraits her sweet personality 🙂

Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Vintage Spring Basics: 5th of April, 6th of March, 4th of May, 4th of May bs, 4th of April; Vintage Autumn Basics: no. XVI. Other: chipboard : Stempell&Kartoon; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; die: Sizzix; resin frame and cameo, guipure lace: from my stash.

See you 🙂

Lovely layout with sweet details, and a wonderful picture.

Your niece is truely beautiful. Love your layers, details and textures. Don’t you love it when you can use stuff that’s been waiting on a shelf for years? I just used a bunch of Martha Stewart daisies for a baby album and it felt so good that they finally fitted in. Your cameo and frame creates wonders for this layout.
