Happy Friday and start to the weekend!  Yeah!  Jennifer Snyder here today to celebrate Friday with you.  I chose to celebrate with the Life By The Sea Collection.
Forever the Navy 800
I always find such peace and happiness when I touch this collection and I finally figured out why.  The collection reminds me of my favorite things and it comforts me.  It reminds me of my favorite places by the ocean and beach and it reminds of me of my dad – a man who also loves the sea.

This is a layout of my dad as a little boy in his little Navy outfit, and then my dad just a few years later as a handsome sailor in the United States Navy.

If you look in the photo of little daddy, he was standing by the US Flag – must have been either Memorial Day – which we just celebrated, or July 4th celebrations.  So sweet.

Featured below is the West Coast paper that is so strong and just perfect for a Navel layout.
I also used Sailing for the chevron and Marina Hovering which has the red stars.

Forever the Navy close1Here are more close ups.  I used a mask and molding paste for my stars.  Then I ran some ink lightly over the dried molding paste.
I had an old old flag from my father-in-law who was a WWII hero so I added it to the corner top.

I had some mini grape vine stars that I painted with gesso and glued them here to continue my theme.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit on your Friday.  Hope it is special.

Fabulous photos, Jen…love the Americana theme you’ve got going here…and what a lovely tribute to that deserving sailor! The painted twig stars are a real treat! Sounds like your dad was destined to a military life…and we all thank him for his service!
