Going Grungy with Vintage Frost Basics

Hi there, Maja fans! Happy Monday!

I was really excited when the amazing “Vintage Frost Basics” collection arrived on my doorstep last week and couldn’t resist to start creating with it right away. I fell in love with the deep brown and grey papers from this collection and just had to make a masculine lay-out with them. This is also the first lay-out that I made about my boyfriend, Jeroen. I’m really happy with my new ‘scrapbook subject’ and I’m sure I will be creating many more lay-outs about him in the future.

Usually I’m really much into feminine, shabby chic and romantic papers, so I hardly ever create something with a more grungy and masculine look to it. But since I didn’t want to introduce my boyfriend on a pink lay-out, I figured I should give the grungy look a go for a change. The beautiful papers from the ‘Vintage Frost Basics’ collection made it really easy to do so! I combined them with an old book page, several embellishments and some twine. I used stamps to make my lay-out look a bit more vintage. The background paper with the script pattern on it is from the ‘Vintage Summer Basics’ collection. As you can see, the different ‘Vintage Basics’ collections can be mixed up really well!

P1980008-2To make my photo the main focus of attention, I emphasized it with a chipboard swirl. I used embossing ink to turn it into brown. P1980006-2
