My Boy

Hello there, Maja Fans! I’m so glad you decided to visit our blog today 🙂 If Mondays are not your favourite days of the week, I have something to cheer you up, hopefully 🙂

mdmyboyDoesn’t that smile put you in higher spirits? 🙂 I decided to use our latest release, the Enjoying Outdoors collection to scrapbook it. I opted for a mostly monochromatic palette of browns, with bits of purple and green visible here and there. I started with layering the grid sheet upon the dark brown paper and distressing the edges. Then I added some stamping (yes, those green stains are stamped too!)

mdmyboy1I chose the embellishments that express my boy’s personality and spirits – and for instance, the chipboard clock represents his quick and precise thinking and the heart button – his good friendly nature. I used the clock theme throughout the page to accent the importance of time passing – we have to keep precious moments in our memories as they will never happen again…

mdmyboy2Apart from pieces of papers I used tags that I cut out of the Tags & Journaling Cards sheet and round stamps and gear – they add nice shape accents to the rectangular design.

mdmyboy3The real old watch face is a special addition to this distressed page. I completed it with a Tim Holtz hand and fun hexagon brad:

mdmyboy4For the title, I used a layered chipboard piece. I inked the base with brown ink and left the topper priginal white for greater contrast:

mdmyboy5I really like the way this page turned out. It reflects both my son’s character and my love for the shabby style. And when I finished, I realised I did it without a single flower! 😀
