Nieuwe start

It’s Romy here today and I am really excited to post my first lay-out as a DT member for Maja Design.  On this lay-out I enjoyed working with the beautiful and fresh ‘Ska Ti Va En Fika’ collection. These papers are perfect for so many occasions. The patterns with coffee cups make it a beautiful collection for scrapping cosy winter photos. But I decided to focus on the more fresh colours and used ‘Ska Ti Va En Fika’ for making a summer inspired lay-out.Nieuwe start

I titled this lay-out ‘Nieuwe start’, which is Dutch for ‘New beginning’. Last year was my first year at University and it was a rather hectic year. I switched studies after only a couple of weeks, which meant that after my start at University I had to meet new people and catch up on a couple of exams. I was so happy when this year came to a good end and that I could look forward to a lot less hectic second year at University. That’s what I mean with a ‘new beginning’.Detail1

I incorporated a lot of paper layers in this lay-out, as I found the different patterns blended very well. I also fussy cut the gingham pattern from the beautiful ‘Nybakat’ paper with a precise knife. I attached it to my lay-out with foamtape to give it some more dimension.
