Hello there, Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂
I know probably most of you already celebrated Mother’s Day, but in Poland we’re still waiting for the fiesta 😉 as it comes on the 26th of May. No money can refund mother’s love and devotion, so I think a handmade gift is the most appropriate present we can give to our most loved women. Any mom highly values the time and heart included in things her kids made themselves! (my mom still keeps those awful wobbly doodles I created for her in the early primary school LOL). And so I have a handmade gift set I created for mom.
I used the soft pastels and beautiful roses design of the Vintage Summer Basics collection. The shabby chic set includes this romantic notepad:
I layered several distressed papers on the front cover and decorated the wire with a piece of delicate guipure lace and vintage key charm:
The central motif is a romantic cameo I inserted into a plastic frame aged with some alcohol inks. I also added mini roses that match the paper design:
I placed the chipboard word covered with Crackle Accents between two pearl brads:
For the inside covers I used the “magazine” paper – I think it perfectly suits the look 🙂
The card mimicks the notepad front cover design to make a perfect set:
Cameos are matted with pieces of cheesecloth for a more shabby and romantic look. You can also see a die-cut frame I traced along with white gelpen:
Maja Design papers: Vintage Summer Basics: 1923, 1933, 1934 bs, 1891. Other: die: Memory Box; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamp: Lemonade; brads: Craftmania.pl; chipboard: Wycinanka.pl; frames, charm: RetroKraft shop; lace, cameos: from my stash.
And what did you give your moms on Mother’s Day? Share your gift ideas here 🙂
