Shadowbox Fun

Hello Maja Design fans and welcome to the blog today 🙂

It’s Maja here to share the shadowbox I made, inspired by the chipboard quotation I bought recently:

mdshadFor the background I used papers from the Vintage Autumn Basics and Vintage Frost Basics. I inked and distressed all the edges, added a few strokes of white gesso here and there and also glued torn strips of paper for an even more distressed look 🙂

mdshad4Then I placed the chipboard quotation and the photos and then started to fill the shadowbox with embellies:

mdshad3mdshad10The small glass vial contains the letter I wrote to my boys – it’s not sealed so they can open it and read any time 🙂

mdshad5I also decorated the outside of the box: the top is covered with flowers and gauze:

mdshad8…and the back is decorated with stamps, stenciling, clock faces and numbers that mark the boys’ age at the time the photos were taken.

mdshad9The shadowbox can be a nice home decor item, and it’s so fun to make! 🙂
