Swingin’

Hi everyone! Heidi here again, bringing you a whole lot of messy scrappin’ today. I really got my hands dirty for this one, throwing all kinds of paint and ink at it!
Swingin'
I prepared to create my project by smearing gesso on top of the “In My Flower Bed” paper, which I used for my background. I then cut a rectangle, as well as two strips from “Summer Kitchen”, adhering the large rectangle to the left center of the page. I then tucked the strips underneath the sides of this rectangle, and one small rectangle at the top right of the page.

Then, using “Summer Poem,” I cut out part of the fence, as well as cutting alongide some of the flowers on the fence so that I could tuck my photo in once I placed it upon the page.

Swingin'4Using dimensional dots, I attached the fence to the rectangle. I then, ripped strips of masking tape, randomly attaching on top of the clusters, then smeared it all (with the exception of the fence) with a bit more gesso.

After fussy cutting out my photo, I used dimensional dots again to attach it to the fence, also tucking it into the flowers on the left side, to make it appear right in the scene that I was hoping to create.

I then stamped with an alphabet stamp in random places within the clusters, and dripped a red alcohol ink around the clusters. I then attached my photo, added flowers to the clusters, dripped a brownish alcohol ink around clusters, and spritzed some pink Shimmerz mist on top of all of it once the other ink was dry.
Swingin'1I then cut ovals out of the “Summer Kitchen” paper, tucking them into my clusters, as well as little pennant banners that I cut from the border of the “Summer Poem” paper.
Swingin'3After all of the art mediums were dried, I flicked more dark blue paint mist in and around the clusters, and dabbed on Texturez paint onto the oval embellishments and in the clusters as well.
Swingin'2To finish the layout off, I added my journaling, a few resin pieces, dripped a bit more contrasting paint everywhere in pale blue, and added grid lines with a paint brush.
