Hi Maja fans and happy Monday!
Unfortunately the summer vacation has already come or is soon coming to an end for most of us. After 3,5 months of vacation (I know, I’m lucky!) I will have to go back to University in just one week. But the good news is that as a scrapbooker you can bring your memories of a wonderful summer vacation back to life again by scrapbooking the photos that you took this summer. I decided to scrap a photo of my dad that was taken during our trip to Berlin. The gorgeous ‘Life by the sea‘ papers were just perfect for making a summery and masculine lay-out.
I wanted to make my lay-out look very masculine and wanted to not use any flowers or swirls on it. My lay-out mainly consists of lots of layers of paper. I mixed and matched papers from the ‘Life by the Sea’ collection in different colours and with different patterns. The edges of all papers were first inked and then distressed.
Of course I also couldn’t resist cutting out one of the grid patterns. The blue grid pattern behind the photo was cut out from one of the ‘Life by the Country’ papers. This sheet is called “Boat at the Bridge-bs”.
I used only a few embellishments on my lay-out. Besides the gorgeous Maja Design papers, I used Prima resin birds, tiny gears, thickers, two tickets, three labels and a metal clock. I tucked in some cheese clothing to add some more texture to my lay-out as well. Supplies:
Maja Design: patterned papers (“Life by the Sea“: Navigate-bs, Landmark-bs, Nautic, Sailing, the East-Coast-bs, Marina Hovering, Morning Swim; “Life in the Country“: Boat at the bridge-bs); Prima Marketing: resin birds, clock face, tiny gears, distress tool; American Crafts: thickers: Tim Holtz: adage tickets, distress ink ‘Walnut Stain’; Spellbinders: Lacey Circles dies; Joy Crafts: tag dies; Martha Stewart: punches.
Thank you for your visit to the Maja blog today! I hope I was able to inspire you and that you will also take your “Life by the Sea” papers to scrapbook some of your favourite summer snapshots.
