Using Christmas papers on a non-Christmas lay-out

Hi Maja Fans! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. To start off the week I have a lay-out to share that I made using two Maja Design Christmas collections. I really love the colours in the Gammaldags Jul and It’s Christmas Time collections and figured: why not use these beautiful papers on a summer lay-out?

Some of the papers from these collections have Christmas images on them, but some of them have a more neutral look. I choose some neutral white, brown and red papers to match the red T-shirt that I am wearing on the photo.

From the Gammaldags Jul collection I used the following papers: Julbak, Marknad-bs, Karamellstrut-bs.

From the It’s Christmas Time collection I have used these papers : Preparations-bs, Christmas Shopping (front and backside), Garlands-bs, Peaceful-bs.

My die-cutting machine made it pretty easy to create this lay-out. I used my dies to create four doilies in different sizes and positioned them from the left below to the right upper corner of my lay-out. In the middle of my lay-out I added a doily, on top of which I layered several pieces of paper and a fussy cut grid pattern.

I only very rarely use twine on my lay-outs, but on this lay-out it seemed to be the perfect finishing touch. I tied a bow around a metal key and placed it in the hands of a resin angel. A tiny brad was used on top of the bow.
Chic 3Supplies:
Maja Design: patterned papers (Gammaldags Jul collection: Julbak, Marknad-bs, Karamellstrut-bs; It’s Christmas Time collection: Preparations-bs, Christmas Shopping (front and backside), Garlands-bs, Peaceful-bs); Prima Marketing: flowers, resin angel, mechanicals brads, alphabet stickers; Bo Bunny: doily; Graphic 45: metal key; Martha Stewart: border punches; Cheery Lynn: doily die; Spellbinders: small doily dies; Memory Box: star dies; Tim Holtz: edge distresser, distress ink; Other: twine.

Thank you so much for your visit and have a great week!
