I always love watching those mixed media video’s where you can watch the process.  I find them fun, inspiring and informative.  I love to see the little steps it takes to put a project together.  So today I thought I would share a video tutorial with you all in how I made the above, Vintage Dress canvas using the beautiful papers from the Ska vi ta en Fika? collection.

Fika-P1

Grab yourself a nice cup of coffee (keep the pot nearby, this is a fairly long one), maybe a little pastry in keeping with the theme of the paper collection, an enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and hope that you’ll feel inspired to try a canvas using these pretty papers.  Here are a few close-ups of the canvas that you can leisurely view, as well as a supplies list of products used.

  • You did it again! I already loved the other dress you made one time. But this one is even more beautiful! And with the maja paper it works smooth I think. The video is nice to look, no long talking and looking for stuff!

Gabi, such an awesome canvas, I like the way you made so many painting, and this dress is just a brilliant idea for this paper. Thank you for sharing

  • Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I’m thrilled to see an elaborate project that isn’t destined for an album or rather should be but wouldn’t fit in one! So many projects on here are drop dead gorgeous but I just don’t know how I’d replicate them or where they would go once I was done! And I have boys! But this I could hang in my home and now I know how. I’d LOVE a supply list tho I was so eager to comment I’ll check again in case there was a link to one and I missed it. Your tutorial was easy to see and very clear. I loved every second of it and never seemed long. Only the second mixed media video I’ve seen and the first mixed media canvas. I am hooked! Thank you

This is so good I’m lost for words. Gabi. You made me watch a 20 minutes long video tutorial. That doesn’t happen to often in my stressed life. You rock.

  • Donna says:

Came back to look again! This is an amazing work of art! I don’t want to watch the video, just want to stay mesmerized! So what did you do with this? Did you hang it up in your home?

    • Gabrielle Pollacco says:

Aw thanks Donna! I gave it to my youngest daughter to hang up in her bedroom….we recently re-decorated her room in a fresh apple green with hints of lavender for room accents, so the colors in the canvs worked perfectly for her room.

  • LORI says:

That was so fun to watch this being created. It looks doable now that I’ve seen it done, otherwise I would be afraid to try it. It’s beautiful.
