Good morning to you, dear Visitors, welcome to the Maja Design blog!
Have you ordered our latest release, the Denim & Friends collection? If not, then hurry up, it’s simply gorgeous! One of my favourite collections so far! Sooo perfect for masculine projects!
And so, when I stopped smelling and touching 😉 , I began cutting and I can’t stop! And I created this layout:
I took the beautiful hemisphere map for the background, matted my photo with various papers and added some paper straws for dimension:
…the flower cluster with a metal charm:
…and made my title using foam metallic gold sticker letters. I also hand-cut some tags and added pieces of signature strips from papers – I love including them in my projects 🙂
I really like the way it turned out, but I had so much fun working with this collection I couldn’t just stop after one layout 😉 And so I made another one:
For a change, I used the other hemisphere for the background 😀 And started to embellish the photo. I had this “love key” for ages and finally the time has come to use it 🙂
There’s also the flower cluster with tags and signature strips:
…and a somewhat longish title 😉 using foam letters. A tip for you: if you want your small letters pop out of the patterned background, trace them around with a fine pen 🙂
It may be a little difficult to notice, as the two maps are on two sides of the same paper – but if you have two of them you’ll see the two hemispheres match perfectly! And soooo….I combined my two layouts to make my first double page ever! 🙂

This is so beautiful, and I just love, what you´ve done here. It really looks fabulous, but like you say yourself, these papers are simply gorgeous. I was sooo lucky to get the honor to unpack them in my local craftstore yesterday, just as they arrived there, and I almost feld holy, when I opened all these amazing packs of simply gorgeous papers and be the first one to even touch them ha ha ha. I haven´t even had time to pack my own out here at home yet, but it will happen here in a short time, and then I´ll probably spend this day touching and smelling, before I dare to cut into anything ha ha ha.
Maja, what a fantastic idea! You have had a lot of taste in the combination of colors and you have created a perfectly harmonious set with this precious paper of the new Denim & Friends collection … sublime!
Maja I love your double page layouts! The addition of the paper straws and tags really added to the pages. p.s. love the title of your second layout. Just ordered this collection, along with the monochromes, and yes, most of the papers I ordered duplicates of. I find I always want to use both sides of the paper. My only child is a boy and I always look forward to seeing how you scrapped the men in your life. This paper collection is perfect for boy/masculine pages, but I think for so much more. I have so many outdoor photos I think would look great on these papers. When you think about it, unless you need to be dressed up for work, we pretty much spend our lives in jeans. I know my family does. Anyway, your layouts look Wonderful!
This is just soooooo gorgeous, I really love the globetrotter sheets, and yes, the two pages together look terrific! Needless to say that you nailed it, Maja.
