Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

This week ends on a very pleasant note – we’re going to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day! And for this occasion I created two cards in different styles that can be used to express your feelings 🙂

Both cards were made using the latest collection, Little Street Cafe. The first one features a more pinky-red colour combo with a touch of green:

The focal point is a hand-coloured with markers stamped image, placed upon a mini hearts patterned paper and decorated with mini roses, tiny heart charm and a stamped sentiment embossed with glitter ep. Details of the image are also accented with glitter:

The other card uses more purple colour tones and has a less “cute” look, so to say 😉 It would therefore be perfect for a man or for a lady who doesn’t like flowers that much 😉

I kept the design pretty simple, with a large metal charm in the shape of angel wings as the main decorative element. I added a die-cut sentiment and metal screw-like brads.

Which one do you like more?

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Die-Namics, Spellbinders; stamps: Penny Black, Lemonade; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; brads: Rayher; charms: my stash.

That is all for today, thank you for visiting! Have a lovely St.Valentine’s Day!

Hello Friends.  Jennifer Snyder here featuring a card made using the gorgeous cheery Little Street Cafe collection by Maja Design.   I love the warm happy colors of this collection.
In addition to the patterned papers from Little Street Cafe, I used the companion monochrome collection, Shades of Cafe, a set of solid cardstock created to perfectly match the patterned paper.
You can see the entire collection here however these are the papers used on my card:
Tea Please (A and B side of the paper)
Die cut sheet

I used some spectacular dies on this card from Spellbinders.
I am sending this card to a wonderful lifelong friend with a Valentine’s Day Birthday.  Don’t you think these colors are warm and happy?   I just know they will melt her heart.

My card opens to a surprise inside.   The sweet image in on the inside of the card was cut from the die cut sheet.

Happy crafting.    Thank you for visiting today.

Welcome!

I hope our winter, which was actually not a winter at all, is over soon.

Grey, wet and some days it just doesn’t seem to get light at all.

But sometimes, even after frosty nights, you could discover a landscape

enchanted by hoarfrost.

This was my inspiration for my mixed media collage today.

 some close up’s

At the last trade fair we made some mushrooms of egg carton with our children.
They made enthusiastically fly mushrooms, that seemed contagious
and so I was inspired to tried another variant myself.

I used our wonderful winter collection ‘Holiday in the Alps’

‘Let it snow’ ; ‘Deers’ and some suitable monochrome papers.

Many thanks for your visit!

Have  a good time!

Kerstin

Hi everyone! How are you? I am back with a sweet little Valentine card, using the wonderful papers from the Little Street Café papers. I have mostly used the ones in yellow tones. Sooo beautiful papers. I will show you at the end of this post. If you can’t wait just scroll down!

When you get this collection of papers, they look really colourful. With bright colours. But as you might have noticed, I like to tone it down a bit. And to use softer colours. That is of course possible with this collection too. The yellow and pink papers are not too bright, and I use my white gesso, and paint here and there. The gesso is lovely to use, as it is a see-through-colour.

As you can see the girl (Tilda from Magnolia) on the image is holding a lock, I had to add a key to the card. I have glued it on to the beautiful rose from Wild Orchid Craft.

I have hand painted the image, with Distress Ink re-inkers and some Markers. It is a kind of water colour, and I use water colour papers to stamp on. I stamp with a brown colour from Memento, called Rich Cocoa. I have to let it dry for a bit before I start colouring. But I like the softer look you get using brown ink, instead of black. Archival ink is also a brand that is good to use.

Here are the papers used:

Thank you so much for visiting the MajaDesign blog today!

Hello Maja Friends.

This year we enjoy the Spring during this so-called Winter, and I am ready to start creating floral and leafy projects, since there is no snow for the past 2 months.

However I decided to play with Denim & Friends collection, that I always choose when crafting something “for Him” projects

I have already made so many cards with those pictures and papers, however I still find the new ways to make something a bit different.

and what I like most of all – it is the sneakers theme.

The plaid is always my favorite form Maja Patterned papers

and I still find exciting to create a couple of cards at one time. It gives you more chances to experiment, even if one of the cards is not a perfection.
