Hello friends.  Jennifer Snyder here to share a shaker card full of love, using the beautiful
Maja Design – Denim & Girls paper collection as well as some of my other favorite products. Here are the papers used from Denim & Girls:
Pink Linen
You’re a Star

Maja Design has the perfect coordinating solid collection to take the stress out of color matching.  It’s the fabulous Monochrome Collection – Shades of Denim.  They have added 6 new shades to coordinate perfectly with the Denim & Girls papers.

In addition to the soft feminine papers and patterns in the collection, I used chipboard from Creative Embellishments as my minimal embellishments.  Yes this card looks clean and simple, however I felt adding flowers and bows would have taken away from the elegance and grace of the card.

This card has one additional added surprise because it is a shaker card.  I love creating shakers  as I  imagine the look on someone’s face as they open a shaker card.

This card is filled with shaker mix from 28 Lilac Lane and the mix is called “Marshmallow”.

After painting the chipboard with cream acrylic paints and creating the shaker section, I added a  doily chipboard piece, giving the shaker a nice delicate decorative edge.

I also added small string pearls to the outside of the shaker to cover the chipboard seams and give a finished polished look.

Thanks for stopping here today.  Happy crafting.

Hello boys and girlies!

I was inspired to create a new mixed media layout.

Our summer is very hot and you can only think on cool water,

ice and dreamy beaches with palm trees.

 🙂 A day in paradise 🙂

I used some beautiful papers from our latest ‘Denim & Girls’ paper collection. ‘My favourite Jeans as background and some leftovers for the work with cutting dies.

Hi everyone! Today I have three cards for you. So just a warning, this post will be a bit long. I have used the lovely papers from the Vintage Romance collection for all three cards. One of my favourite collection.

First up is this card.

All three images are coloured with Distress Ink, re-inkers and Markers. All to match the beautiful papers.

I have also used Maja Papers for the bird house and the stamps.

Behind the image I have cut out and placed some fences using Maja Papers. The flowers used are from Wild Orchid Crafts. All images and texts are from Magnolia. The shape of the card is made with a Go Kreate die. Other dies used are from Magnolia and Spellbinders (the ovals and circles).

Under here you can better see how the card is built up.

Now for my next card, more in blue tones.

For the flowers here I have used papers from the latest collection Denim & Girls.

I have also cut out the cute stamps from the Vintage Romance collection.

I have added some Fran-tage here and there, and also painted with white Gesso on the flowers and on the papers.

Some tags.

And here is my lates card.

Here with flowers from Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts.

A close up of the cute text.

And here a better view of how this card is built up.

How cute is this bird house made with Maja Papers?!!

And also some stamps made with the papers.

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja Design Blog!

With love,

I love this collection, it really gives me the summer out door feel of beach and long bike rides , picknicks all that sorth of summer outdoor activities .

At the moment it’s not really outdoor weather , rain  and not warm.

Hope summer weather will return soon , so I can enjoy being outside again.

here a close up from the cardtopper , I made it using the big rosette die from tim holtz with a glitter heart from Melissa Frances on top.

Added little wings from my own stash behind it , on top a Hydrangea from Prima marketing and a little vintage button to complete it.

I hope you like  the card I made for you this time, wish you a wonder full Summer don’t forget to come back again to see what the other Maja Girls have made for you.

Happy First Adult Birthday!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

In some countries the first adult birthday comes when you turn 21, but in many, Poland including, it’s as early as 18. It’s usually an occasion to throw a big party and celebrate entering adulthood while still being entitled to behave like a teenager 🙂 And it’s a great occasion to give a handmade card too, isn’t it?

I was really happy when my all-time favourite collection Denim&Friends got its girly partner 🙂 I love the images sheet, the colours and patterns that refer to and complete the masculine papers. And to celebrate this new addition to the Maja paper family I decided to make the cards with these two collections. Both feature images in the centre of design and navy blue accents.

The girl’s version adds a touch of pink and a bit of glamour with crystal gems and the digits cut out from gold metallic mirror cardstock:

In the card for a boy I added some steampunk elements also die-cut from gold cardstock. Just as in the girl’s card I incorporated the “You’re a star” phrase – in the previous card it was printed in the background paper, here it’s a snippet of the signature strip:

I really like the way the cards turned out – simple but pleasant to the eye 🙂 What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Desing papers:

Other: dies: Rosy Owl, Joy! Crafts; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; crystals: Prima.

And when do you celebrate the first adult birthday in your country?
