Hello, I am excited to share with you a couple canvas’s I did. I really have not worked with canvas, but now I am hooked.I love the way they turned out & they make such a great gift & now I don’t have to purchase shadow box’s. I will do 12 x 12 LO’s for myself, because they fit in my albums, but if I am doing it for someone else, I am going to work with canvas. My inspiration came from Gabi. I first saw Gabi’s STUNNING canvas that she did for her “A New Mixed Media Tutorial Video”, then watched Gabi’s AMAZING Video!!!! After watching Gabi’s video ,I went flying out the door to buy canvas & also stopped off at the hardware store to buy drywall tape. Here is my 1st canvas, it is a 8 x 10, I put it on a backing just to take the photo……

I also purchased a couple drywall repair patches at the hardware store, they give amazing texture. On all the chipboard I either used picket fence crackle or bisque liquid pearls. When the crackle dried, I rubbed in some dark brown chalk to bring out the cracks, & when the liquid pearls dried, I applied a bit of mocha rose LuminArte…..

I did not place my photo, or embellish, until after I painted on the watered down gesso & sprayed on Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Old Lace. I have not worked much with gesso, because I don’t like to mask the beautiful paper that I am working with. So again after watching Gabi’s Video, I tried the watered down gesso & was happy to see that it did not cover the paper….
