Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today!
Although Easter is supposed to be the most joyful celebration of the year, this year is different. We’re globally suffering from the pandemic and the feelings of joy, happiness and the glory of life through Christ’s resurrection seem distant and muted by the invisible virus and restrictions it put over our everyday life. But if we are to overcome this, we must stay strong! We must take care of ourselves and of others by – paradoxical as it is – distancing from them and not endangering anybody with unnecessary contact. Therefore I decided NOT to send Easter cards this year – so that post workers are safer and my family and friends as well. And that’s why I made just one card for this season and will be sending a photo of it with my wishes:
I made the card using the latest Maja collection, Little Street Cafe and used the largest X-cut dies to give it an egg form – just love making paper Easter eggs! 🙂
Although I make egg cards each year, I nonetheless try to include a different symbol every time. This year I decided to use the Paschal candle. It represents the light of the risen Christ coming to the world, the light that dispels darkness, and the victory of life over death. Isn’t it a perfect symbol for these gloom days?
I decorated the Paschal with lilies – symbols of love, purity and resurrection and catkins – popular elements of Polish Easter palms. I embossed the stamped sentiment with gold ep and added some sequins for more festive glam.
And here’s the list of my supplies:
Maja Design papers:
Other: dies: X-cut, I Love Craft, Crat&You Design; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamp: Lemonade; sequins: my stash.
And so this is the card that I won’t be sending to anyone, but to everyone! 🙂 With heartfelt wishes of peace, blessing and joy to fill your hearts and homes.
Happy Easter!
