Hello, I decided to make a new header for my blog,so I started with that, then Scrapped the Header into a 12×12 LO. Here is my new header….

Life's Lttle Embellishments

The size of the header is 4×12.Here are some close ups of detail…..

I did some layering, tearing, distressing & stitch work. The Chipboard is from Scrap Fx,the leafy foliage is a die from cottage cutz & the roses are from i am roses…..

lle2

On this side is the title of my blog,& on the other side I put my name.I made the header, but have no clue on how to put it on my blog,so I had 1 of my sons do that for me. I used the beautiful Fika Collection for this LO,love, love this collection!!!!!

Now for the LO……

LLE Layout

My colors on the LO are off, I don’t know why, I will blame it on our very cold weather, the true color is the color in the header, but this has also inspired me to work with the deep blue in the Fika Collection. Out of the Fika Collection I used: Vaffla m bjornbarssyit, Bjornbarskator bs, Bjornbarskator, Bjornbarsrutor,Haureutor bs,Plommonkaka bs,Smulpaj m applen bs…Here are some close ups of detail…..

Yes, more layers!!!! I used Tim Holtz doily die cut, some punch work (my favorite punch, but requires hours of hand stitching),& some distressed layers, plus lace to give more texture in the layers & to bring out the color in my sweater……..

lle lo3

The oval die cut is from die-namics. For all the chipboard on this LO I first used a paint brush and applied iridescent gold Tattered Angels, then rubbed on some plum chalk….

I inked all the edges of the die cuts with brown ink….

I would also like to share with you a LO I did for the Scrap Fx Blog using the Beautiful Walking in the Forest Collection………..

Cest La Vie!

I took my sons out on a fall photo shot, they had to go through water to get to a old falling down building,so they wore chest waiters,Tandri’s got full of water so his older brothers helped him take them of. From the walking in the forest collection I used Jeans,Fresh Air,Birdsong,Mountain Ash BS,Die Cut Sheet,Cosy Scarf,BS,Flannel Shirt,& Autumn poem on this LO. I will have to do a garden LO using the oranges & greens from the Walking in the Forest collection & the purples in the Fika Collection. Here are some close ups of detail….

I did a lot of layers, distressed the edges, then inked the edges with walnut stain…..

I stained the telegraph poles with walnut stain, then applied a thin coat of crackle, after that dried I rubbed in some chalk. On the birds on the wire I used caramel apple & pumpkin pie tattered angels. On the stem of the field of flowers I used iridescent gold tattered angels, & for the flower heads I first used fired brick stain, then crackle, then when that dried I applied pumpkin pie tattered angels….

cest2

The leafy foliage is a die cut from cottage cutz,I inked the edges brown, then rubbed in orange chalk. The rolled flowers is a die cut from Die-namics.On the wordlet  I used blue smoke perfect pearls mist & pumpkin pie tattered angels, then rock candy crackle,& once that dried I reapplied the perfect pearls & the tattered angels.

I also did a bit of punch work & stitching….

Rachelle, these LOs are beautiful! I love your techniques. What die did you use for the firebrick-colored flowers on either side of the photographs? All in all, a wonderful layout.

  • Beautiful. But I think you mean waders. Not waiters!
