Maja Design never ceases to amaze me with their gorgeous papers, but the “Vintage Autumn Basics” collection really knocks it out off the park in my opinion. I just love everything about this collection: the romantic colours, the timeless designs and, most of all, the fact that this collection has both a masculine and a feminine side. Today I will show you a lay-out and a card that I made with this beautiful collection. For my lay-out I focused on the masculine papers, whereas I choose the more romantic and feminine papers for my card.

My brothers really don’t like it to get their photo taken, but sometimes I succeed in sneakily taking one. I just loved how this photo of the two of them turned out and couldn’t resist scrapping it with these blue and boyish papers.

Supplies: Maja Design: patterned papers (Vintage Autumn Basics: No. XI, No. XIII, No. XIV-bs, No. XVI, No. XVII, No. XVIII-bs, No. XIX, No. XIII-bs, Heritage); Prima Marketing: Resin Birds, Small Typo Bulbs, Junkyard Findings Trinkets; Bo Bunny: doily; Rayher: pearls; Martha Stewart: border punch Cherish; EK Success: border punch; Tim Holtz: Distress Ink ‘Walnut Stain’; Other: twine.

I did quite a lot of fussy cutting on this lay-out. I usually like to embellish my lay-outs with flowers and seam binding, but decided to use fussy cuts instead of them on this lay-out. The clocks are cut out from the No. XVI sheet, the hot-air balloons are cut out from the No. XIII sheet and the title is cut out from the background sheet: ‘No XIX’. I attached the clocks and hot-air balloons with foamtape, so they would stand out a bit more.

I also have a card to share that I made with the more feminine papers from this collection. My boyfriend and I got to celebrate our very first ‘anniversary’ last week. We have been together for only one month and although this is nothing compared to a 30th wedding anniversary or so, I couldn’t resist making him a card to celebrate this. The romantic papers from the ‘Vintage Autumn Basics’ papers were simply perfect for making a card with a love theme to it.

2Supplies: Maja Design: patterned papers (Vintage Autumn Basics: No III-bs, No. V, No. X, No. XVI, No. XVIII-bs); Prima Marketing: resin heart, alphabet stickers; Tim Holtz: Postage Stamp frame die, distress ink ‘Walnut Stain’; Spellbinders: Lacey Circles dies, Scalloped Heart dies; Martha Stewart: Doily Lace border punch; Queen & Co: pearls.

Thank you for your visit to the Maja Design blog today! I hope you enjoyed my post.
