Confirmation Card Revisited

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

A couple of years ago on one of the craft forums I found a challenge called “Project Revisited”. The challenge meant that you recreate a past project of yours, whether introducing some changes or not. I thought this was great for beginners to check on their progress, but also for any crafter, just for fun. And so with a recent Confirmation card order I thought of this challenge and recreated a card I made a couple of years ago.

I used the Miles Apart collection for the card and kept the design mostly unchanged, but while I used just Monochrome papers then, I decided to go for a patterned paper this time, choosing my favourite rose bouquets pattern and I just LOVE how fresh and delicate it looks!

In the previous card the die-cut doilies were supposed to add some texture and interest to the background, and here I found they provide the structure for the design and make the background less busy. I think it’s awesome how the same element can have opposite functions when used in different contexts!

As the card was supposed to go into an envelope I went easier on the flower cluster than in the past card, but it still has a nice dimension:

And here’s what I used for this version of the card:

And how about you? Do you “visit” your past projects sometimes, and if yes, do you change much?

See you soon!

Hello Sweet Maja Fans,

Lenet here , and today I bring you this layout , made with the wonderful Tropical Garden collection.

For this Layout I did some fuzzy cutting. The exotic sheet from the tropical collection is just perfect for this.

I love fussy cutting , I think it’s very relaxing , and it looks great on layout and cards.

Here are some close ups.

The chippies I used are from Scrapaholics I colored them with some acrylic paint.

I found the picture of the cute little girl at pinterest.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you like my layout,

See you next time , stay safe.

Hello friends.  Jennifer Snyder here today to share a cozy home decor piece for the holidays.

As the weather turns colder, my creativity also starts to focus on Christmas and holiday cheer. I took this opportunity to create a Christmas home decor piece using Maja Design’s Traditional Christmas season.

My shadowbox used a combination of the 12×12 papers and 6×6 papers from the collection:  Singing Carols, Santa’s Elves, Family Gathering, By the Fireplace.

Singing carols-bs

I used the collection as the wall paper  for the Christmas scene, for the gift wrapping and for the adorable stocking hanging from the festive mantle. The 6×6 paper pads are great when making these smaller items.

Doesn’t the 6×6 Traditional Christmas collection make the most beautiful gift wrap?

Thank you for joining us today.  Happy crafting.

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

In a couple of days Polish students celebrate Teacher’s Day. It’s a good occasion to thank all those who care about our kids’ education, also in those difficult times of online schooling. And so I created two chocolate boxes to present to teachers instead of regular thank you cards 🙂

I made the book cover-like packages using cardstock and decorated them with the Miles Apart papers. Boxes have a mirror composition and different colour palettes, but otherwise are alike 🙂 Both feature large flower clusters with hand-cut tags and pearl brads on the front part:

Inside I added small pockets to put a bar of chocolate into and a large tag to write in wishes (or perhaps draw something, as these are meant for the kindergarten teachers):

I kept the design here very simple, letting the papers play the first fiddle, but I couldn’t resist adding these cute doilies 🙂

I hope the teachers who are going to receive these chocolate boxes would appreciate the gift as well as feel appreciated!

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; brads: Latarnia Morska; ribbon: Rayher, dies: Cheery Lynn Design, Craft&You.

That’s all for today, see you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

September 30th is the Boys Day that we celebrate in Poland (although the International Boys Day is some other time). It’s not as popular as Women’s Day, but being the only woman in the house I have little choice but celebrate it 😀 And so, for this occasion I made a lyaout featuring my boys:

I chose the Denim&Friends collection because its’ my favourite and it’s the most awesome masculine collection to use for a boy page 🙂 I used a plain Monochromes paper for the background and added some stamping and a stencil pattern. Then I hand-cut some tags and banners for the photo I put in the centre:

I also stamped magnolia images onto one of the patterned papers and added some shading with Distress inks and gold acrylic paint for the centres:

Both my boys love reading, and both chose math as their major at school (why?why? 😀 ), so I added a chipboard square set and stamped book pile using the paper piecing technique:

I think the layout turned out really fine, nicely dimensional yet flat enough to go into a frame or an album. There are flowers, but “masculine” enough 🙂 What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps, chipboard, stencil: Agateria; stickers: MAMBI; sequins: my stash.

That’s all for today, see you later!
