Hello and welcome Maja Design friends. It has been a little while since I last was here. But I am back finally today to share with you my newest creation called “Let your smile change the world”. I thought this title  was quite apt for our challenging times at present.

So of course being my first project back after a long break, I was so keen to use the latest release papers from Maja Design which is called “Miles Apart”. Oh how my heart melts every time I look at these papers. They are simply so soft and subtle with that always so special vintage aspect of the Maja Design line of papers.
My starting point here was gutting and distressing and then the layering of my papers. I chose the pink from “Distance” to frame the layout and “Stay Home” were used as the centre piece. And then along the way I found the addition of the Aloe from the beautiful 49andMarket Seaside Blooms flowers, helped keeping the project soft and subtle.

Monochromes – Shades of miles – Steel Blue
I chose a portrait photo, that I adore of my youngest, and swapped it to black and white and printed them out in differing sizes. I layered these up on torn sections and cut mats of the leftover “Miles Apart” papers. I also cut a heart freehand from the “Distance” leftovers.
I have used lots of gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboards and 49andMarket flowers to help embellish this project and frame my photos.

All my chipboard pieces were primed with a Liquitex Clear Gesso. This helps to protect the chipboard from becoming too wet from the medias. I think it also gives your chipboard a truer colour from whatever medium you are adding. They were, once dried, coloured with acrylic paints.
I also added in a little random stamping using Walnut Stain distress ink and a 49andMarket stamp. But really I didn’t need to do too much to this background as it had a lot of detail already there.
And the full  Sentimental Quote at the top right of the layout reads :
“Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.”

And that is all from me today.
Until next that I am here, take care and happy crafting.
Hugs

Goodmorning lovely Maja Design fans,

Today i’d like to share another layout with you all and again I used two pictures, one of my darling husband when he was just a little boy back in 1972 and one of our daughter in 2020. They both had the same cookie jar between there legs isn’t that cute I just so adore both pictures that I had to use them on a layout.

As I told you in one of my previous posts I like to use the opposite parts of my chipboards as I also did here next to my husbands picture you see the big part and then the barbwire that came out of that part. I used some ruste paste on my chipboard and later on some opal magic wax {Blue Velvet} it gives it a nice purple/blueish color just like my flowers.

On the background I added a Dusty Attic stencil and some spray by Lindy’s {Sidewalk Chalk} my favorite spray. On the background of my white circle paper I added a text stamp and I used a flair in my flower cluster which I totally love to use on my layouts. I also gessod the word “captured”and the stamped on it with the same text stamp. For the finishing touch I added some purple wishing bubbles {oh my aren’t they the cutest}

Welcome dear Maja friends!

Have you yet seen our latest amazing paper collection ‘ Miles Apart’ ??

If not – check them out! You’ll love them!
Delightful colours and inspiring motifs, I was immediately in love with the motives and

used the longing woman for an summer sea inspired layout. The motive seduced me once again to paint with acrylic colours and so the brush continued painting the cut out ephemera picture almost by itself.

Many of us spend their holidays in this year on balconies or in the garden, no question that can be very relaxing. But at the seaside it would be even more beautiful, healthy air and bathing in the sea, you can only dream of that this year. when I discovered this woman with this longing look, it fitted exactly to my somewhat melancholic mood.

 Ephemera

Ephemera – cut outs from woman, girl and roses

Nyhavn – Sitting at the dock

some close up’s

in the upper area I simply painted with a fan brush a few clouds and seagulls

I love this vintage woman look and chose some suitable acrylic colors

little girl swings in the rose garden and dreams of the sea

other materials:

Chipboards from Dusty Attic; Mini Art Stones (Prima Marketing) ; Acrylic paints (DecoArt)

I hope I could inspire you to take time again for the beautiful things in life!
Happy crafting!

Good morning Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

So the day has come: a new collection from Maja Design is being released right now! And I am absolutely smitten by this collection: it’s so classic Maja, but with a fresh air to it too, with stunning ephemera images and most beautiful soft colour palette. It’s as versatile as any Maja collection, even though it has a particular theme: missing some loved ones because we can’t see them as they are miles apart. I think it also fits well in the current times of the world pandemic, when many have to stay at homes due to lockdowns or quarantines. So these paper would be perfect for all those “thinking of you” and “miss you” cards or other projects, images of elderly people would be perfect for Grandparents’ Day projects. But the collection features some gorgeous flower designs as well, simply ideal for wedding or birthday cards and albums. And so today I bring you a wedding exploding box with my most favourite designs from the set 🙂

As usually, I decorated the box lid with a flower cluster, with wedding rings ribbon and some golden die-cut leaves. On the sides of the lids I used pieces of the signature strip – I just love those small patterns or sentiments ready to be used like this:

Then the outer walls feature the beautiful rose bouquets design, definitely my most favourite pattern!

Inside I put some money pockets and a tag for writing in wishes, and in the centre a filigree chipboard cake decorated with matching mini roses and a lace bow:

I really loved working with these papers and I’m sure you will too! What do you think of this collection?

Here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Spellbinders, Magnolia; chipboard cake: Wycinanka.pl; sequins, ribbon, lace: my stash.

That’s all for today, I wish you a safe and happy summer time – see you soon!

Hello Maja Design friends.  Jennifer Snyder here with you today to share a card made using the fabulous “soon to be released ” collection from Maja Design called “Miles Apart”.  The collection will be released August 10th and will soon be shipping around the world.

This is a “must have” collection with gorgeous soft roses, pale peach, light green, gingham patterns and all the exquisite vintage charm that sets Maja Design distinctively apart from any other paper company.   It really makes me smile because it’s so beautiful.

The collection also has a 6×6 paper pad and the matching Monochrome collection, “Shades of Miles”  with just solids.  I used the “Walnut Brown” from the monochrome collection as a background frame for my card.

The chipboard shaker used is from Create Embellishments and the gorgeous shaker mix is from Buttons Galore’s new collections called Doo Dadz.

Remember – August 10th and then shipped around the world.  Hopefully to your doorstep.

Happy Crafting.
