Hello , Lenet here .

Today it’s my turn to give you some inspiration .

I made this layout for you to show you how versatile the Majadesign collections are.

For this autumn-ish layout I used a combination of papers from the Denim and Friends and Denim and Girls collections.

Two of my favorite collections and the mix so well together.  The wood panels are cut out of  the Denim and friends -Wood .

I used a lot of filigree bronze embellishments on this ,  inspired by the  the crown the woman in the picture is wearing .

I added some Rose Triads pure sheen gemstones from Nuvo to give it all some bling and royalty.

The flowers I used are from Prima marketing and 49Market.

All together I’m very happy with the way this Layout turned out.

I hope you like my inspiration for this week hope to see you back next time.

Make sure you come back later to catch some inspiration from the other Maja girls.

Welcome Baby Shaker Card

Good morning, dear Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂

I really love the look of shaker box projects. They offer some dimension and fun elements and are simply interesting to look (and play!). But I seldom make shaker box cards. And when I decided to make a welcome baby shaker card, I was quickly reminded why.

First of all, it’s easy to make shakers with square or rectangular shapes, but not so easy with other, even as basic as the circle. The capsule must be sealed tight so that the contents of the shaker do not fall out. I made many of shakers using adhesive foam squares, but with round shapes they might still leave tiny gaps, so I decided to die-cut round frames and stack them up to make the shaker box, thinking it would save me some time. Boy, was I wrong! To make a 0,5 cm high frame I had to die cut 8 pieces and then glue them one by one together. By the fourth layer the frame started to get crooked no matter how precise I tried to be! The frame is pretty thin, so that was the problem. But finally I managed to create a more or less even frame.

The next problem appeared with the window. I use thick laminating foil for my shakers and with smaller elements I never had any problems, but with this pretty large window the sequins I put in were jumping out or clinging to the foil due to the static electricity. I used soem anti-static spray to deal with it, some also use anti-static powders or pads that are designed for embossing. Finally I was able to assemble my card 🙂

I kept the design very simple so that the shaker remains the main focus. I only added some more die-cuts and a couple of pom-poms to decorate the frame and added a stamped and embossed sentiment.

The image inside the shaker is coloured with Kuretake Twin markers. I accented the details with glitters to get an ombre effect on the moon:

It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t quick, but I still like the result. Do you? 🙂

The list of supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Whimsy Stamps, Lemonade; dies: CreaLies, ScrapMan; pom-poms, glitter cardstock: my stash.

Do you make shaker box projects?

That’s all for today, thank you for visiting and drop by tomorrow!

Pumpkin Patch Card
Hello.   Jennifer Snyder here sharing a festive card that is perfect for autumn.  This card features the warm papers from “Enjoying Outdoors” paper collection from Maja Design.
The beautiful purples, warm browns and soft greens in the collection made me think of outdoor festivals and pumpkin patches.
This card also was inspired by Maja design’s Mood Board for October:
The papers used from Maja’s Enjoying Outdoors collection are:
Colorful
The Great Nature
Feeling Good
What A Beautiful Day
I like the non-traditional autumn pumpkins.
The little pumpkins and green leaves are  from Spellbinders.

Thanks for stopping here. Have a creative day.

Hello MajaDesign followers!

It’s time for a new Mood Board.
October is my favourite month of the year. Perhaps it is because the lack of light makes it okey to stay inside doing things just because you love doing them. The fall season seems to offer more “slow time”. Or maybe it’s because fall season bring out some of my favourite colors (like the ones in this mood board). Or maybe it is just because it’s my birthday month and I get to enjoy having my family over for dinner. However; it is a wonderful time of the year.

What do you like about October? Join in for this Mood Board challenge and show us.

This is how we use the mood boards:
Definition mood board – n
[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design and you are free to interpret the Mood board in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme. You can use all of the colors, or only one of them – that’s up to you.
